The best Seekins rifles come out of Lewiston, Idaho, where Glen Seekins and his crew machine, assemble and test fire their bolt guns in house. Seekins earned its name with billet AR parts, then built the Havak bolt action line into one of the most respected semi-custom rifles you can buy off a dealer shelf.
Here is the catch for buyers in 2026. In January 2025, Seekins told us it was sunsetting the entire original Havak bolt action series, including the PH2 and the first Element, in favor of a new three lug, 60 degree action built for higher pressure cartridges. Read our exclusive interview with Glen Seekins for the full story. That means some rifles we reviewed are now discontinued or custom shop only, and you will mostly find them on the used market. We mark every one of those below.
Our writers at GunsAmerica Digest have tested the old and new guns hard. One ran a PH3 in 6.5 Creedmoor out to 775 yards with repeatable sub half inch groups. Another carried a 6 pound Element Hunter in 7 PRC and printed a .264 MOA group with factory ammo. Another put more than 1,000 rounds through a HIT Pro.
Start with the buyer’s guide to understand which of the best Seekins rifles fit your hunting or shooting, then jump to the picks. We checked the current Seekins rifle lineup in October 2026. Prices are current manufacturer MSRP checked in October 2026, with the price at the time of review noted where it helps, and discontinued models show their last known price and sit at the end of the list as picks worth finding used. Buyer’s Guide: How To Choose The Best Seekins Precision Rifles In 2026
Among the best Seekins rifles, every current Havak bolt gun is built on the same basic M3 action and mini chassis, so the real choice is stock, weight and job.
What Changed In 2025
The new Seekins action uses a three lug bolt, a 60 degree bolt throw that clears big scopes, dual ejectors and a sliding extractor, and it is built for higher pressure rounds like the SIG 277 Fury. A mini chassis inside the stock replaces glass bedding, and a tool-free quick change barrel collar lets you swap calibers by loosening one clamp screw. Our reviewer said the M3 Element kept the same MSRP as the outgoing PH2, and Seekins lists it at $2,895 MSRP in 2026. Seekins also covered its new barrel technology for high pressure rifles in 2026.
The Current Lineup
When we checked the Seekins site in October 2026, the bolt guns were the PH3, PH3 NRL, Element, Element Hunter, HIT Pro M3 and SIC, with the Havak SLAM listed under the Custom Series. The AR side was the NX15, DMR and SP10. Older models such as the PH2, the original Havak Element, the original HIT and HIT Pro, and the Havak Bravo are no longer in the standard lineup.
Hunting Rifle Or Chassis Gun
If you hunt, look at the Element, Element Hunter and PH3. They are light, they carry a hunting brake, and the Element Hunter folds for a pack. If you shoot steel, PRS or NRL style matches, look at the HIT Pro M3 chassis rifle or the PH3 NRL. The SIC is a 15 pound special operations style rifle that changes calibers, not a hunting rifle.
Cartridge Choice
The new actions handle everything from 6mm Creedmoor to 300 PRC, with long magazines that allow up to 3.9 inches of cartridge overall length in the magnums. Our Element Hunter reviewer is not a fan of long action magnum recoil and percussion and almost chose a smaller round before going with 7 PRC. In a 6 pound rifle, be honest about how much recoil you want.
Glass And Mounts
Every new Havak has a 20 MOA rail machined into the action, so you do not need a separate base. Budget for good glass; our SIC test rifle wore a Nightforce ATACR 7-35×56. For value optics, see our best rifle scopes for the money.

Seekins PH3: Best Seekins Rifle Overall (2026)
The Seekins PH3 is the best Seekins rifle overall because it delivers the new 60 degree action, a TriggerTech trigger, a toolless adjustable cheek piece and the quick change barrel for $1,895 MSRP (2026), up slightly from the $1,850 retail our reviewer quoted at the time of review (2026). Our reviewer called it a lot of gun for the money and said it drilled repeatable sub half inch groups and held that precision to 775 yards.

It was not perfect out of the box. His 6.5 Creedmoor rifle shot sub half inch groups that he could not repeat, so he sent it back. Seekins returned it after a factory tune, and it then shot repeatable small groups with multiple Hornady factory loads. He also shot a customer’s rifle back from warranty work that printed a .298 inch group. He got the trigger down to 1.9 pounds and praised Seekins customer service. This is a current production model.

- Barrel: 20 in, quick change
- Action: Seekins three lug, 60 degree bolt throw

Seekins Element Hunter M3: Best Seekins Backpack Hunting Rifle (2026)
The Seekins Element Hunter M3 is the best Seekins backpack hunting rifle because it weighs just 6 pounds in 7 PRC, folds down for mountain travel and still shot a .264 MOA group with factory ammo. Our reviewer called it his dream backpacking rifle for $3,200, still its MSRP in 2026.

It replaces the Havak SLAM in the standard lineup, and he noted it costs $1,300 less than the $4,500 SLAM he once passed on (prices he cited in 2026). It uses a 22 inch carbon wrapped barrel, a three round carbon magazine, a TriggerTech set at 1.5 pounds and a 20 MOA rail machined into the action. Federal 175 grain ELD-X shot .676 MOA and Nosler 175 grain AccuBond Long Range shot just over 1 MOA. He was skeptical of the carbon barrel after loving the steel barreled SLAM, but the groups won him over. Expect real recoil in a 6 pound magnum. This is a current production model.
Key Specs
- Caliber: 7 PRC (as tested)
- Barrel: 22 in, medium contour, carbon fiber wrapped
- Weight: 6 lb
- Magazine: 3 round carbon fiber
- Trigger: TriggerTech, set at 1.5 lb

Seekins Havak Element M3: Best Seekins For Hunting And Long Range (2026)
The Seekins Havak Element M3 is the best Seekins for hunting and long range because it pairs the new M3 action with a carbon wrapped barrel, the PH3 carbon stock and calibers from 6mm Creedmoor to 300 PRC. Our reviewer said it is more than an incremental upgrade and that it can handle backcountry elk hunts, long range steel or competition with a simple barrel and stock swap.

His 7 PRC test rifle cycled smoothly with Hornady 175 grain ELD-X and averaged about 0.75 MOA for three shot groups, inside the Seekins sub-MOA guarantee. He liked the bubble level built into the 20 MOA rail, the full length M-LOK forend and the fact that you can strip the bolt to the firing pin in under a minute without tools. He said it kept the same MSRP as the outgoing PH2, which works out to $2,895 MSRP in 2026. This is a current production model, listed simply as the Element on the Seekins site.
Key Specs

Seekins SIC: Best Seekins Modular Precision Rifle (2026)
The Seekins SIC, short for Seekins Interchangeable Caliber, is the best Seekins modular precision rifle because it was born from a special operations requirement and swaps calibers up to .338 Lapua with tool-less magazine wells. Our reviewer shot it in cold, snowy conditions and said it stayed sub-MOA hot or cold and drove recoil straight back so he could spot his own hits.
Read our full Seekins SIC review here.
Shooting multiple ammo types back to back without cooldown, five shot groups stayed sub-MOA, and the largest measured just over three quarters of an inch at 100 yards, including called flyers. The one piece steel receiver carries a 20 MOA rail, the bolt is three lug and toolless, and the folding stock locked up solid. It weighs 15 pounds 5 ounces without optic or suppressor, so this is a supported position rifle. Our review did not give a price, and caliber kits add cost. It is a current Seekins model. We also covered its debut at NASTI in 2025.

Status note: the SLAM is no longer a standard production rifle. Seekins says it is still available through the Seekins Custom Shop, where it lists at $4,650 in 2026; our Element Hunter reviewer recalled a $4,500 price. Final Thoughts On The Best Seekins Precision Rifles Of 2026
Of the best Seekins rifles, the one for most shooters is the PH3. It gives you the new action, a great trigger and real sub half inch potential for $1,895 MSRP in 2026. Hunters who count ounces should look at the 6 pound Element Hunter, and the Element M3 is the all rounder for hunting and long range. The SIC is a special purpose modular rifle. If you want an ultralight steel barreled gun, the SLAM still comes from the custom shop. The SP10 is the semi-auto option. On the used market, the HIT Pro and the Havak Bravo are both proven, and both are discontinued but worth finding.
