The SIG 716i TREAD is a quality battle rifle at an almost budget price, and our reviewer called it the most tested battle rifle of its year for a reason. With a 16 inch barrel, it is only slightly larger than an AR-15 with the same barrel length. It runs a lightweight direct impingement system, a 5/8-24 threaded barrel with a flash hider, and at 8.5 pounds it balances well. Ejection was consistent across different bullet weights and brands over more than 200 rounds of testing. The weak spot is the trigger, which averaged 7 pounds 15 ounces.
