Best Bergara Rifles (2026): B-14 Squared Crest, MgLite & More

in Bolt-Action, GA Guides, Rifles

The best Bergara rifles prove that a barrel maker can build a whole rifle. Bergara started out making barrels in Spain, and that obsession with bores shows up on paper: our testers have shot a 0.36 MOA group with a Premier Divide, a 0.45 inch group with a B-14 Squared Crest and a five shot group of about 1 MOA at 300 yards with a B-14 HMR.

Bergara builds two families of centerfire rifles. The B-14 line uses a Spanish made action patterned after the Remington 700 and covers most hunters’ budgets. The Premier line uses a higher end stainless action, TriggerTech triggers and carbon fiber parts. We cover both here, from a Ridge that lists at $999 MSRP in 2026 to an MgLite chassis rifle that lists at $3,099 to $3,149 MSRP in 2026.

Every pick below comes from a GunsAmerica Digest hands-on review, and we list the review year with each one. Some of these tests are recent and some date back to 2017, so check current models and pricing. Prices are current manufacturer MSRP checked in October 2026, with the price at the time of review noted where it helps, and discontinued models show their last known price and sit at the end of the list as picks worth finding used.

Bergara also makes excellent rimfires. Rather than repeat ourselves, we point you to the rimfire guides where the B-14R, BMR-X and BMR already appear. Start with the buyer’s guide, or jump to the picks.

Buyer’s Guide: How To Choose The Best Bergara Rifles In 2026

Pick a Bergara by the job first, then by weight, then by budget.

B-14 Or Premier

The B-14 rifles are the value line. Our Ridge reviewer called the trigger great and shot sub-MOA with three different 168 grain loads from a rifle that cost $865 MSRP in 2019 and lists at $999 in 2026. The Premier rifles move up to a stainless two lug action with a floating bolt head, TriggerTech triggers and lighter stocks. Expect to pay much more: the current MgLite lists at $3,099 to $3,149 MSRP in 2026, and the Premier Divide, Canyon and LRP are now discontinued.

Weight For Mountain Hunts

If you climb for your game, weight matters more than anything else. The Premier Canyon weighed 6.2 pounds without a scope in our 2023 review, the MgLite 6.7 pounds and the Squared Crest 6.8 pounds. Bergara also showed the CIMA Pro at SHOT Show 2026 at a reported 5.5 pounds in short action and $3,099 MSRP in 2026. That is news coverage, not a hands-on review, so it is not ranked here. We also covered the B-14 Squared Crest Carbon at SHOT Show 2024. For more hunting rifles across brands, see our best bolt action hunting rifles.

Hunting Rifle Or Range Rifle

The HMR and Premier LRP are heavy, adjustable rifles built for prone and barricade shooting. The HMR weighed 9.25 pounds in our 2017 test and the LRP about 10 pounds. They will hunt, but they are happiest on the range or in a match. The Canyon, Divide, MgLite and Squared Crest are hunting rifles first.

Muzzle Brakes

Many Bergaras ship with a brake. Our Squared Crest reviewer said the Omni brake did its job but blew dust all over him prone on dry ground, and he planned to remove it. Most of these barrels are threaded 5/8×24, so a suppressor or a different brake is an easy swap.

Bergara Rimfires

Bergara’s rimfires are covered in other guides, so we do not repeat them here. The B-14R trainer shot half MOA groups in our tests and listed $1,150 to $1,245 MSRP in our 2020 B-14R review, and the BMR-X started at $719 MSRP in our 2025 review. Both appear in our best precision .22 LR rifles. The BMR appears in our best .17 HMR rifles, and our best .22 LR rifles covers the rest of the rimfire field.

Glass

A Bergara barrel deserves good glass. Our testers used scopes from Trijicon, Burris, Vortex and others. For a value minded scope, see our best Burris scopes.

Our reviewer tested the Ridge at the range and on a Texas whitetail hunt. The 7.9 pound rifle has a No. 5 contour 22 inch barrel, heavier than most sporting barrels, and a 4+1 capacity. Bergara Premier Divide: Best Used Premier Hunting Rifle (2026)

The Bergara Premier Divide is the best used Premier hunting rifle because it put up the tightest group in this guide, 0.36 MOA, from a 7.2 pound rifle that can hunt the mountains or shoot from a bench. His .308 test rifle had a 22 inch CURE carbon fiber barrel, an AG Composites carbon stock, a Patriot Brown Cerakote finish and an installed 20 MOA rail and ported brake. Shooting three round groups at 100 yards, he got multiple sub-MOA groups, with a best of 0.36 MOA using Hornady Black 155 grain A-MAX. It fed reliably from the included 5 round AICS pattern magazine. His only real gripe was cosmetic: he did not like the symbol on the middle of the rail. Price was $2,950 MSRP at the time of review (2024), and Bergara now lists the Premier Divide as discontinued, last shown at $2,799 (2026).

Key Specs

His 6.5 Creedmoor had a 20 inch fluted, No. 4 contour stainless barrel with an Omni brake, an AG Composites carbon stock with a Decelerator pad and real metal bottom metal. The bolt cycled with exceptional smoothness and the rifle fed and ejected without a hiccup. Federal ammo averaged 0.82 inch with a 0.54 inch best group. Bergara also offers the Canyon in 375 H&H at 6.5 pounds, which makes it a legitimate dangerous game rifle. His only nitpick was a bolt knob that could be a little bigger. Price was $2,475 to $2,525 MSRP depending on caliber at the time of review (2023), and Bergara now lists the Premier Canyon as discontinued, last shown at $2,349 (2026).
