Springfield Armory has dressed up its compact SA-35 with a polished blued finish, giving shooters another option that blends classic styling with everyday-carry dimensions.

The new 4-inch Polished Blued SA-35 is chambered in 9mm and built around Springfield’s updated take on the historic P-35 pistol. It retains the familiar steel-and-walnut look while incorporating practical changes for modern defensive use.

The new 4-inch Polished Blued SA-35 combines classic P-35 styling with a compact barrel and 15-round 9mm magazine.

The pistol’s forged carbon-steel frame and slide receive a polished blued finish that gives the gun a deep, glossy appearance. Checkered walnut grip panels complete the old-school presentation while providing some useful texture.

The carry-focused change is the 4-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel. Springfield gives it a 1:10 twist and an improved feed-ramp design intended to work with modern defensive ammunition. The pistol measures 7.1 inches long, stands 4.8 inches tall and weighs 29.8 ounces. That is not polymer-pistol light, but steel-frame fans will likely consider the extra weight part of the appeal.

Springfield also carries over the functional upgrades that distinguish the SA-35 from a straight reproduction of the classic P-35. Those include a factory-tuned trigger, improved ergonomics, enhanced controls and a 15-round flush-fitting magazine.

The sighting system consists of a white-dot front sight paired with a serrated Tactical Rack rear. It is a traditional iron-sight setup, but one designed to offer better visibility and more practical handling than the small sights found on many older pistols.

Springfield is positioning the new model as a refined EDC option for shooters who appreciate the P-35’s slim profile and natural handling but want something slightly more compact and visually distinctive.

The result looks like a solid middle ground between a practical carry gun and the kind of pistol an owner may occasionally stop to admire before putting it in the holster. The 4-inch Polished Blued SA-35 carries an MSRP of $799 and is available through Springfield Armory dealers.

The High Power is a traditional all steel handgun.

An although it is my all time favorite 9mm handgun its been made obsolete by more modern designs.

The HKP30sk is lighter because of its plasticky frame,

the plasticky frame will not rust,

it holds more rounds yet is smaller is size,

it can be carried locked and cocked or hammer down in double action,

it can be stripped down with the safety in the on position,

It does not have the steep feed ramp of the High Power that often gives problems feeding all types of expanding bullets.

In conclusion I would still buy the Springfield High Power just because it is a High Power. So there!!!

Yep. You know what they say “who doesn’t love a high-power”.

The BHP was designed by Saint John Moses Browning. That’s all one needs to know. Nothing he designed can be destroyed by a German Shepherd chewing on it.
