CCRKBA Says Seattle Has a Crime Problem, Not a Gun Problem

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) is pushing back against calls for more gun control following Sunday’s deadly shooting at Seattle Center, arguing the tragedy underscores a crime problem rather than a gun problem.

In a statement released Monday, CCRKBA Executive Director Andrew Gottlieb criticized Seattle officials for repeatedly referring to the incident as “gun violence” while failing to focus on the alleged criminal behavior behind the attack.

“It took 17 hours for police to acknowledge the suspect they had in custody is only 15 years old,” Gottlieb said. “And then Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes talked about ‘small groups’ and not much about gangs. I’m sorry, but that sounds like political correctness rather than candor.”

Seattle police have said one suspect, a 15-year-old, is in custody while investigators continue searching for a second alleged shooter. Authorities recovered two firearms at the scene.

Gottlieb argued that the suspect’s age raises immediate questions about how the firearm was obtained.

“It is clear the teenage suspect didn’t legally buy the gun he allegedly used,” he said. “The other gun recovered by police, allegedly used by another shooter, may have also been obtained illicitly.”

Rather than framing the shooting as a firearm issue, Gottlieb said city leaders should concentrate on criminal conduct and illegal gun possession.

“Deflecting blame to guns is a non-starter because they just don’t commit crimes by themselves,” he said. “We don’t blame cars for fatal crashes, and we shouldn’t infer guns are to blame for violent crime.”

The organization also criticized Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson and Police Chief Shon Barnes for repeatedly using the phrase “gun violence” during public remarks following the shooting.

That rhetoric often serves as a precursor to additional gun control proposals targeting lawful firearm owners instead of violent offenders.

Gottlieb pointed to the more than 112,000 King County residents who hold valid concealed pistol licenses, arguing they should not bear responsibility for crimes committed by juveniles or other prohibited possessors.

“They haven’t hurt anybody,” he said. “You’re not going to reduce gun-related violence by penalizing the wrong people.”

CCRKBA also called for greater transparency from investigators regarding the origins of the recovered firearms and questioned why more attention has not been given to how the teenage suspect allegedly obtained a handgun.

The group further argued that Seattle’s ongoing violent crime problems (including shootings and stabbings documented in police reports) demonstrate that broader criminal activity, not lawful gun ownership, is the central issue.

The Seattle Center shooting remains under investigation as detectives work to identify and locate the second alleged shooter. Authorities have not yet released additional information about how either firearm was acquired.

Of course it’s a crime problem and not a gun problem… Just like in every other liberal city. Has America not realized yet that all liberals do is blame everyone and everything else for their problems other than their own faults? This is really simple… All you enter city poor people that like receiving free shit, get off your ass and get a job and then vote for a Republican to come in there and straighten your neighborhoods out. Or you could just stop reproducing future welfare recipients… That would be a big start!
Liberals want to keep you poor and dependent on them. At least have the IQ to be able to see and figure that out!

GM1 are you really that much of a brainwashed Maga Moron.

Fact: Amazon made 2 billion it profit, paid zero taxes thanks to the criminal Herr Drumpf and the criminal corrupt Republicans. Amazon paid millions to its C.E.O’s while giving none of its profits to its troglodyte worker slaves.

Amazon pays its workers such low wages (and only part time to avoid paying any benefits) that Amazon Workers qualify for and get Welfare and food stamps . In other words they are modern day serfs, troglodyte worker slaves, The were allowed only minimum bathroom breaks and peed their pants while on the Assembly line.

Your Lord God President Reagan who believed in the “laughable” “trickle down economy of the Rich” made outrageous statements that claimed Welfare Queens drove brand new Cadillac’s down to the welfare offices and the White Hillbillies (forerunners of the Maga Morons) like yourself ate it all up like candy and accepted it as gospel.

Try again GM you made a complete fool of yourself in front of educated people or people who have actually had to exist on welfare money.

And what lame brain excuses will you make for the high gasoline prices and consumer prices due to the idiotic tariffs your Lord God Herr Drumpf has caused. Or the 330,000 Americans who lost their Obama Cafe extensions because of the corrupt criminal Republicans and are now paying sky high prices for prescription drugs while Herr Drumpf’s Rich friends got billions in tax exemptions while the peon workers got Drumpfs middle leg shoved up their rectums.

Where is Herr Drumpf’s great health care plan that for two of his terms as President never materialized, not even a plan was made.

Try again GM you only made a complete fool of yourself.

I am sorry, dacian, but you have been talking pretty bad about Amazon workers and I have to stand up for them here. They might be abused serfs but troglodytes? That is more than a little bit inappropriate. I thought you were on the side of the working poor but you speak with the kind of tongue that brings out guillotines.

Why do you talk about the President’s slick willy so much?
