Best 10mm Carbines (2026): Vector, Banshee, LC Carbine & More

in Authors, Gun Reviews, Handguns, Rifles, Travis Pike

The best 10mm carbines of 2026 finally give the 10mm Auto the long gun it deserved all along. The 10mm gives you .357 Magnum-class power in a rimless semi-auto cartridge, and when you add barrel length, you add velocity. In our KRISS Vector review, the same LAX load went from 1,128 fps out of a 6-inch Glock 40 barrel to an average of 1,327 fps from the Vectorโ€™s 16-inch barrel, about 18 percent more. That turns a hard-hitting handgun round into a legitimate deer, hog, and home defense carbine.

For years, the choices were thin. Our writer called out the 10mm carbine gap around SHOT Show 2018, when the options were basically a KRISS Vector and a Hi-Point. Now Ruger, Smith & Wesson, KelTec, CMMG, Grand Power, and Thureon all build 10mm long guns, from folding backpack carbines to braced pistols and full-length rifles. Most of them take Glock 20 magazines, which makes them a natural partner for a 10mm carry pistol.

This guide replaces our earlier 10mm handguns and rifles roundup with a carbine-only focus. For 10mm pistols, see our best 10mm pistols guide. We ranked these carbines on Digest testing first. Four picks have full GunsAmerica Digest reviews or range reports, and we link every one. Where we only have launch coverage, we say so.

Prices are labeled with their source, MSRP at launch or MSRP at the time of review, because PCC pricing moves fast. Start with the buyerโ€™s guide.

Buyerโ€™s Guide: How To Choose The Best 10mm Carbines In 2026

A 10mm carbine is not just a 9mm PCC with a bigger hole. The cartridge is hotter, the ammo varies more, and the action has to handle it. Here is what matters.

Operating System

Most 10mm carbines are straight blowback, which is simple and reliable but needs a heavy bolt and spring, so recoil can be sharp. Delayed systems soften that. The CMMG Banshee uses Radial Delayed Blowback, and our reviewer compared its recoil with heavy loads to birdshot from a 12-gauge autoloader. The KRISS Vectorโ€™s Super V system drives the bolt downward to fight muzzle lift. Our Stribog reviewer had no failures with a blowback 10mm, but he noticed the recoil.

Magazine Compatibility

Glock 20 magazines are the most common 10mm feeding device, and the KelTec SUB2000 10mm, KRISS Vector, CMMG Banshee, and Thureon all use them. That lets you share mags with a G20 or G40 and run stick mags or drums. Smith & Wessonโ€™s FPC uses M&P M2.0 magazines, the Stribog uses its own 20-round magazines, and the Hi-Point uses its own 10-round magazine.

A true carbine needs a 16-inch barrel or longer to avoid NFA registration. Braced pistols like the Stribog SP10A3 and Banshee use 8-inch barrels and are legally pistols, with rules on braces that have changed over time. Check current federal and state law before you buy or configure one. Longer barrels give more velocity, while short guns are easier to maneuver indoors.

Ammo Selection

10mm loads vary widely in pressure and velocity, from soft target loads to full-power hunting rounds. CMMG ships the Banshee with two buffers to tune for your ammo for this reason. Test both your practice ammo and your defense or hunting load for function, and confirm point of impact, since our Stribog reviewer saw Hornady 155-grain XTPs print 1.5 inches higher than his FMJ zero.

Folding And Packability

Folding carbines like the S&W M&P FPC and KelTec SUB2000 fold to about 16 inches and ride in a backpack. That makes them great truck and trail guns. Check whether the fold interferes with your optic. S&W designed the FPCโ€™s horizontal fold so it does not.

Optics

Nearly every 10mm carbine has a Picatinny rail, and a red dot is the right sight for most of them. Inside 100 yards, a dot is faster than a magnified optic. Our best PCC optics guide covers the sights that work best on pistol-caliber carbines.

KRISS Vector 10mm: Best Overall 10mm Carbine (2026)

The KRISS Vector is the best 10mm carbine for shooters who want the most control from the most powerful common PCC cartridge. The CRB model has a 16-inch barrel, made by permanently extending the 5.5-inch barrel inside a shroud that looks like a suppressor but is not. Its delayed blowback Super V system drives the bolt and an inertia block downward behind your support hand to cut muzzle lift, and it feeds from standard Glock 20 and 40 magazines.

Our reviewer said it shoots like a dream with fast follow-ups, though he described the recoil impulse as unusual. At 25 yards with a Burris scope, he printed consistent all-holes-touching groups. At 50 yards, LAX and SIG Sauer Elite Performance 180-grain loads grouped best, and the gun ran everything he fed it with no stoppages. He sees it as a defensive tool that is hard to beat inside 50 yards with a red dot. Our review covered the Gen II CRB.

CMMG Banshee 10mm: Best Soft-Shooting AR-Style 10mm (2026)

The CMMG Banshee 10mm is the best AR-pattern 10mm, and its Radial Delayed Blowback action is the reason. A mechanical delay makes the bolt rotate before it unlocks, slowing the bolt carrier and letting chamber pressure drop. CMMG ships it with a 5-ounce H3 buffer installed and a 3-ounce carbine buffer in the box so you can tune it for the wide range of 10mm loads. It uses Glock 10mm magazines in all capacities and has a last-round bolt hold-open.

Our reviewer shot more than 300 rounds of DoubleTap and Speer Gold Dot ammo in a range day with CMMG, and the gun ran great. Even with heavy loads, he compared recoil to birdshot from a 12-gauge autoloader. The version we shot was a pistol with an 8-inch barrel and an adjustable brace, 24.3 inches long and 5 pounds 9 ounces unloaded. At the time of review, Banshee 100 Series 10mm pistols listed at $1,299.95, 200 Series pistols and SBRs at $1,449.95, and 300 Series guns at $1,649.95. CMMG also offers rifle-length configurations.

  • Barrel: 8 in (pistol as tested)
  • Length: 24.3 in (pistol with brace)
  • Weight: 5 lb 9 oz unloaded (as tested)
  • Magazine: Glock 10mm, all capacities

  • AR controls

Cons

  • Tested as a braced pistol, not a 16-inch carbine
  • Expensive
  • Range-day report, not a long-term test

Thureon Defense 10mm Carbine: Best Value Tested Rifle (2026)

The Thureon Defense carbine is the best value 10mm rifle we have tested. It looks like an AR but is its own design from a small veteran-owned Wisconsin company. The upper houses the buffer tube attachment, bolt, and barrel, the lower holds only the trigger group and magazine well, the feed ramp is a separate part bolted into the lower, and it uses a side charging handle. For 2019, Thureon standardized on Glock magazines.

Thureon sent our reviewer a used demo gun, which he preferred because it proves the gun holds up past a few hundred rounds. He did not clean it, and it ran everything he fed it in a wide range of weather, including an ammo test at 16 degrees. The Standard model had an MSRP of $1,099 in 10mm at the time of review.

Key Specs

  • Caliber: 10mm Auto (also 9mm, .40, .45)
  • Magazine: Glock (2019 and later)

  • Construction: Proprietary upper and lower
  • MSRP: $1,099 (10mm Standard) at the time of review

Pros

  • Ran dirty in freezing weather
  • Glock magazine compatible
  • Side charger
  • Fair price for a tested 10mm rifle

Cons

  • No bolt lock on empty magazine
  • Small company availability
  • Proprietary parts

The horizontal folding mechanism locks with a latch and does not interfere with a top-mounted optic, so you can fold it with a red dot attached.

The KelTec SUB2000 Gen 3 in 10mm, shown at NRA 2025, is the folding carbine for Glock 20 owners. The GLK version takes Glock 20 magazines, including stick mags and 50-round drums, so it shares ammo and mags with your G20.

Our NRA 2025 coverage describes a 16-inch blowback carbine with M-LOK slots on the sides, Picatinny rail on top and bottom, a threaded barrel, and adjustable sights. Grand Power Stribog SP10A3: Best Compact Braced 10mm (2026)

The Grand Power Stribog SP10A3 is a compact, pistol-grip blowback 10mm with an 8-inch barrel threaded 1/2ร—28, a polymer lower with an aluminum-backed trigger group, and an integral aluminum upper with M-LOK handguard. It ships as a pistol with no sights in a hard case with three 20-round translucent magazines, and it is mostly ambidextrous, which our left-handed reviewer appreciated.

Read our full Grand Power Stribog SP10A3 review here.

With an HB Industries folding brace and a small red dot, it weighed 6.6 pounds loaded. Our reviewer fired about 400 rounds with no failures to feed, fire, or eject. At 50 yards he reliably shot 3-inch five-shot groups with Sellier & Bellot 180-grain FMJ, and he could hit a half-size steel silhouette at 100 yards. Buffalo Bore 220-grain Outdoorsman averaged 1,388 fps from the 8-inch barrel. Recoil is noticeable, so it is slower between targets than a 9mm PCC.

Key Specs

  • Caliber: 10mm Auto
  • Capacity: 20 rounds (three magazines included)
  • Barrel: 8 in, threaded 1/2ร—28
  • Action: Blowback

Hi-Point 1095TS: Best Budget 10mm Carbine (2026)

The Hi-Point 1095TS is the cheapest way into a 10mm carbine, and it was one of only two options when the 10mm carbine market was nearly empty. It has a 17.5-inch threaded barrel, a 32-inch overall length, a 7-pound weight, a 6-pound single-stage trigger, and a single 10-round magazine in the box.

Read our full Hi-Point 1095TS coverage (launch news) here.

Our launch coverage pointed out that the long barrel gives the 10mm extra room to run, making the 1095TS a viable hunting tool and not just a range toy. The MSRP was $389.99 at launch. It is heavy and basic, and we have launch coverage only, but for a truck or deer camp gun on a tight budget it gets the job done.

Key Specs

  • Caliber: 10mm Auto
  • Capacity: 10 rounds (one magazine)
  • Barrel: 17.5 in, threaded
  • Overall length: 32 in
  • Weight: 7 lb
  • Trigger: 6 lb single stage

Final Thoughts On The Best 10mm Carbines Of 2026

The best 10mm carbine for most shooters in 2026 is the KRISS Vector, which tames the 10mm better than anything else we have tested and feeds from Glock mags. The CMMG Banshee is the soft-shooting AR-style choice, the Thureon Defense is the tested value rifle, and the Ruger LC Carbine is the full-length factory gun for hunting. The S&W M&P FPC and KelTec SUB2000 fold into a backpack, the Grand Power Stribog SP10A3 is the compact braced option, and the Hi-Point 1095TS is the budget pick.

Other 10mm long guns worth knowing are the Just Right Carbine, a takedown AR-style blowback that takes Glock magazines, and the Swiss-made B&T APC10 large-format pistol.
