Staccato owners just received a major warranty upgrade, and the change could make used Staccato pistols more attractive to buyers.
Effective immediately, Staccato’s lifetime warranty follows the firearm instead of the original purchaser. That means a Staccato-built pistol remains covered for its lifetime, regardless of where it was purchased or how many times it changes hands.
Previously, the warranty applied only to the original owner. Coverage ended when that person sold or transferred the pistol.
“Lifetime Should Mean Lifetime”
Staccato CEO Buck Pierson said the updated policy reflects the company’s commitment to the pistols it produces and the people who depend on them.
“Lifetime should mean lifetime,” Pierson said. “The warranty should follow the firearm, not stop when ownership changes.”

Pierson added that Staccato intends to support every pistol it has built and every owner who relies on one.
The warranty comes with every Staccato-built pistol at no additional cost.
What Does the Warranty Cover?
According to Staccato, the lifetime warranty covers eligible defects and failures involving the pistol’s operation and major components.
Covered issues may include:
- Problems affecting function or accuracy
- Cracked frames, slides or barrels
- Broken thumb safeties or grip safeties
- Broken slide stops, ejectors or extractors
- Broken grips
- Factory coating delamination
- Factory blending needed to correct contact hot spots
The updated policy applies to Staccato-branded pistols already registered with the company. Current owners do not need to register again or take any other action.
Someone buying a pre-owned Staccato can also receive the lifetime coverage at no cost. However, the new owner must register the pistol under his or her name through Staccato’s warranty website.
What Is Not Covered?
The warranty does not cover normal wear items. That includes springs, magazine followers and finish wear caused by holsters or hard use.
Damage or malfunctions caused by aftermarket parts are also excluded.
The expanded warranty applies only to Staccato-branded firearms. Older STI-branded firearms are not included.

This is a straightforward but meaningful change. Staccato pistols are premium firearms, and they often retain considerable value on the used market. A factory warranty that stays with the gun removes one of the potential concerns involved with buying one secondhand.
Buyers still need to inspect any used firearm carefully. But they will no longer lose Staccato’s lifetime warranty simply because they were not the first person listed on the sales receipt.
