SIG is taking the CROSS in several new directions for 2026, including a 9-inch .300 Blackout, a compact .223 Wylde and carbon-fiber SAWTOOTH variants built around precision-friendly features.

SIG CROSS 2026 Breaks Out of the Hunting-Rifle Box

SIG Sauer brought several new CROSS bolt-action rifle configurations to SIG NEXT 2026, and the lineup is stretching well beyond the platform’s lightweight hunting-rifle roots. New models include compact .300 Blackout and .223 Wylde configurations plus new CROSS SAWTOOTH variants with PROOF Research carbon-fiber barrels.

The result is a much broader SIG CROSS 2026 family, ranging from short suppressor-friendly configurations to rifles set up for tripods, clip-on optics and precision shooting.

9-Inch SIG CROSS .300 Blackout Goes Seriously Compact

The compact SIG CROSS in .300 Blackout uses a 9-inch barrel and is available with either SIG’s folding adjustable stock or a folding brace.

It keeps the familiar CROSS features, including the folding rear assembly, detachable magazine, adjustable two-stage trigger and free-float M-LOK handguard.

With only 9 inches of barrel out front, this compact SIG CROSS .300 Blackout should make an especially interesting suppressor host. For more on where current suppressor technology is headed, see GunsAmerica Digest’s Best Suppressors of 2026.

SIG CROSS SAWTOOTH .300 Blackout Adds Carbon Fiber

SIG also added a .300 Blackout CROSS SAWTOOTH with a PROOF Research carbon-fiber barrel.

The SAWTOOTH adds a full-length Picatinny top rail for mounting clip-on thermal or night-vision optics and an ARCA section underneath for tripod use.

Those additions move the SAWTOOTH farther into the precision and field-optics world while keeping .300 Blackout in the mix.

Compact .223 Wylde SIG CROSS Packs an 11.5-Inch Barrel

SIG is also offering a compact .223 Wylde CROSS with an approximately 11.5-inch barrel and folding brace.

The .223 Wylde chamber allows use of both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition while remaining well suited to accurate match loads.

That combination gives the compact CROSS another utility-focused chambering without abandoning the short, folding configuration that makes these new models stand out.

16-Inch .223 Wylde SAWTOOTH Adds Carbon Fiber and ARCA

The SAWTOOTH version stretches the .223 Wylde barrel to 16 inches and uses a PROOF Research carbon-fiber barrel.

It also gets the extended Picatinny rail and ARCA interface, giving shooters more real estate for optics and a purpose-built attachment point for tripod use.

SIG CROSS SAWTOOTH Jumps Into 22 Creedmoor

SIG also showed a new CROSS SAWTOOTH chambered in 22 Creedmoor.

Like the other SAWTOOTH models, it uses a PROOF Research carbon-fiber barrel, extended top rail and ARCA section.

SIG had not published a complete spec sheet for this version when we put this together, and I don’t remember the exact barrel length.

Why the New SIG CROSS Lineup Matters

Taken together, the SIG CROSS 2026 lineup makes the direction clear: SIG is pushing the platform well beyond its original lightweight hunting-rifle role, with compact suppressor hosts, .223 Wylde utility rifles and carbon-barreled precision models.

The CROSS has already covered considerable ground as both a lightweight rifle and a heavier precision platform. GunsAmerica previously compared the SIG CROSS PRS and SIG CROSS Rifle, and these new configurations stretch that family even farther.
