Mark Oliva, Managing Director of Public Affairs for the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), didn’t hold back in his response to a recent letter from House Democrats Jamie Raskin and Lucy McBath to Attorney General Pamela Bondi.
The letter, which pressures the DOJ to maintain strict gun control policies, was met with sharp criticism from Oliva. He called it a “laundry-list of gun control demands and propaganda.”

Oliva’s Response: Read the Second Amendment!
Oliva dismissed the lawmakers’ concerns, pointing out that their demands could be addressed with a simple reading of the 2A.
“It might be that they are entirely unfamiliar with that language – so allow me to refresh their memory. It’s only 27 words, ‘A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.'”
His response underscores the NSSF’s firm stance against further restrictions on gun rights, particularly those targeting firearm dealers and manufacturers under the ATF’s regulatory policies.

The Letter’s Gun Control Demands
The House Democrats’ letter urges Bondi to continue the Biden-era ATF enforcement policies, which include:
- Aggressive FFL license revocations under the ATF’s “zero-tolerance” policy
- Universal background checks and expanded gun control measures
- Maintaining strict firearm trace data policies
The letter frames these policies as necessary public safety measures. But it’s clear they’re backdoor efforts aimed at choking off legal gun sales and punishing firearm dealers for minor clerical errors.
The Fight Over ATF Enforcement
Under the Biden administration, the ATF ramped up enforcement, shutting down gun stores at a record pace.
Critics, including Oliva and the NSSF, argue that these measures punish law-abiding businesses while doing little to stop actual crime.
With President Trump’s executive order calling for a full review of these policies, House Democrats are now pushing back to keep these restrictions in place.
What’s Next?
Attorney General Bondi has yet to respond to the letter, but if Oliva’s reaction is any indication, gun rights advocates are prepared to push back hard against any continued ATF overreach.
Stay tuned as this fight over federal gun restrictions unfolds.

Keep a close eye on Lucy McBath, she’s a far leftist who is trying to gain more power to push the same failed radical Democrat policies of the last four years and some new ones. She’s currently preparing for a run at governor of Georgia and make no mistake, she intends on a run at the presidency in the near future. She’s dangerous because she’s a true believer in all those failed policies of the Democrat party and would go even further than Biden did if she ever gains more power. Never ignore your enemy when they tell you up front that they are coming for you.
Translation: We lost at the ballot box, but we still want to retain power.
