Hornady 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer Makes Reloading Easy — SHOT Show 2025

in Riley Baxter, SHOT Show 2025

When it comes to reloading, efficiency and precision are key. That’s why I’m so impressed with the new Hornady High Speed 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer.

If you’re like me and have a ton of cases to prep, this tool is going to save you so much time and effort. It combines three essential case preparation steps into one compact tool, making it a serious upgrade to my reloading bench.

Trims, Chamfers, and Deburrs – All in One Step

I absolutely love the convenience of having three case prep functions combined in one unit. The High Speed 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer spins at over 2000 RPMs, which means it gets the job done quickly and cleanly.

You can trim, chamfer, and deburr in one easy step—no more switching between different tools or wasting time. It’s so much faster than doing each of those individually and you can get back to reloading sooner.

A red and silver case trimmer is mounted to a table. The motor is stationary and the cartridge holder is on sliders.
The 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer is designed to be compact and efficient, speeding up your reloading process and decluttering your bench.

Precise Adjustments with Ease

One of the features that really stands out to me is the 0.001” click-adjustable micrometer. This allows for super precise and consistent trimming, which is crucial when you’re reloading.

Whether you’re working with different calibers or just trying to fine-tune your trim lengths, this micrometer ensures you’ll get it right every time without the constant trial-and-error to get your trim length right.

The large silver knob on the top of the image is what tightens and loosens the collet, which holds the cartridge in place. The micrometer adjustment wheel is located below that.

Versatility to Handle Different Calibers

This trimmer is compatible with cases from 22 cal all the way up to 30 cal, and can handle lengths from 1.450” to 3.5”. Hornady even includes pilots for 22 caliber, 6mm, 6.5mm, and 30 caliber. Plus, the trimmer comes with 2 collets that accommodate a variety of cartridge sizes.

These include .223, PPC, standard, and magnum cartridges. The adjustable inside and outside carbide cutter blades make it easy to switch between different cartridges, so you don’t need multiple tools cluttering up your work area.

Safety and Convenience

I always prioritize safety, and the see-through cutter housing on the High Speed 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer protects the user from accidental contact with the cutters. This trimmer also features a removable shavings tray, which should make cleanup a breeze.

No more bending over my workbench trying to scoop up shavings—this little feature will save a lot of frustration.

Plus, the included cartridge bin mounts to the trimmer to catch trimmed cases. Once the case is trimmed, simply turn a knob and drop it loose from the trimmer so that it can fall into the cartridge bin. This simple drop-and-go system can move you to the next case quicker.

Price And Availability

At $619.99 on Midway USA or $499.99 on Brownells (I forgot to ask the guys at the booth the MSRP and it’s not on their website), the Hornady High Speed 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer is a sizeable investment. But I think it’s worth it if you’re looking to streamline the reloading process and get better results with less hassle.

With its precision, speed, and ease of use, this tool will really make a difference in my reloading setup. If you’re serious about your reloading game, this trimmer is an absolute must-have. This trimmer is shipping, but you might have to wait for it to restock due to its popularity.

Hornady forced their employees to undergo experimental medical procedures during the chinese virus. I will never buy Hornady products again.
