Looks like the Democrats are learning what the gun rights crowd already knew: David Hogg is a grifter, who is more concerned about headlines than helping anyone.
The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) dropped the hammer in a new press release, mocking the DNC’s quiet push to oust Hogg as vice chair.
Why? Because the 24-year-old anti-gun activist declared a $20 million war chest to primary older Democrat incumbents—and party elders are now scrambling to clean up the mess.
“Democrats have obviously discovered something about Hogg the Second Amendment community knew almost immediately,” said CCRKBA Managing Director Andrew Gottlieb. “He’s a self-aggrandizing attention grabber who wants to play power broker.”
Ouch.
Gottlieb wasn’t done. He torched Hogg’s gun control activism as nothing more than theater designed to raise money off tragedy: “It’s about like promising to stop a blizzard by banning snow plows.”

The press release paints Hogg not as a reformer, but as a “party crasher with the mindset of a grifter.” The group says Democrats may agree with his gun-ban policies but can’t stand his “juvenile political behavior.”
And the DNC’s sudden concern about procedural rules? CCRKBA calls it a “flimsy sham” to cover their regret.
“Clearly, Hogg’s my-way-or-the-highway approach and his willingness to throw his elders under the nearest bus has not gone over well,” Gottlieb said. “He forgets that change is guided by big men, not big mouths.”
Hogg wanted power, and now that he’s tasted it, he’s proving he doesn’t know what to do with it—other than burn bridges and fire off tweets.

In reality it took Hogg to kick the Democrats in the pants and get them moving on gun control that is long, long, overdue. Hogg appeared on Bill Maher’s show and proved he is an extremely intelligent young man with a very good grasp of the evilness of the Republican Party and how they have blocked even minimum sane gun control that the entire rest of the world has had for decades which are the following;
Universal Background Checks which would keep tens of thousands of second hand guns out of the hands of criminals and psychopaths. Not having this law is pure insanity. All civilized nations have this law. And this law works and works well as other Industrialized nations have far, far less homicides and mass murders than we do. That is gun control historical fact that even the depraved Republicans cannot lie their way out of.
Safe Storage Laws. Did you know even Colonial America (Pre-Revolution) had laws in some cities that banned loaded guns in the home because of all the needless child deaths from accidental shootings. Obviously the Colonials had more grey matter between their ears than we do today.
Red Flag laws: Contrary to Far Right Paranoia, bold face lies and pure propaganda, the majority of people killed in homicides are not from home invasions, or even robberies but from people they know such as Husbands killing Wives or Neighbors shooting Neighbors because dog urinated on someone’s lawn or someone cut them off in traffic. Red Flag laws do indeed save lives and lots of them its just that none of the laws mentioned are Federal in nature. A hodgepodge of State laws that may or may not exist does not cut the mustard.
Hogg did an excellent job on Bill Maher’s show and proved he is a rising political star in the world of the Democrats and he will be around in the political arena for decades to come. Let’s wish him luck so he can avenge the senseless murders at his High School that never should have happened. The Republicans simply wrote off the senseless child murders as a sacrifice on their depraved altar of zero gun control laws. NRA loot and bribery was just too much for corrupt, greedy, Republicans to pass up. Money is their real God and human lives are simply expendable and nothing more than collateral damage.

Shocking!!! Where have I seen that factoid before? Oh yeah, word for word a previous dacian post. What is your source? Howard Zinn? How were “accidental shootings” occurring with all those cumbersome flint locks? Were young children priming the flash pan and cocking the hammer while mom and dad were milking the cows and feeding the chickens? Or were most flintlocks simply unprimed with the flint open and the cock down? Seem like there were/are lots of ways to accidently be harmed and laws were not going to replace sound precautions.
How many people per 100,000 were being gored by animals and farm instruments in the ole Colonial America days? Maybe people understood the world they lived better then you or Howard Zinn, yeah think?

We had Paranoids in Colonial America just as we do now and undoubtedly they ha pistols loaded and ready to fire by simply cocking back the hammer.
