Brady Can’t ‘Erase’ Ties to Creep Eric Swalwell

in News

California Congressman Eric Swalwell is out and the fallout is just getting started.

According to coverage from NewsNation, Swalwell’s resignation was read on the House floor following a wave of allegations, including new claims that surfaced publicly this week. His attorney has denied the accusations and indicated legal action may follow against what they describe as false claims.

Still, the situation escalated quickly.

Commentators noted that in today’s political environment, scandals rarely stay hidden for long, with one panelist pointing out the “arrogance” it takes to believe serious allegations wouldn’t eventually come to light.

Swalwell’s exit comes as scrutiny intensifies. Not just on him, but on the organizations and political allies that previously supported him.

That’s where the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is focusing its attention.

In a sharply worded statement, CCRKBA says the anti-gun group Brady Campaign has attempted to distance itself by removing references to Swalwell from its website and deleting past content tied to his appearances.

But according to CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, that doesn’t change the past.

“By pushing background checks, waiting periods and other extremist gun control measures,” he explained, “Brady makes it clear they consider all gun owners and gun buyers guilty until proven innocent. Instead, maybe they should background check who they work with.”

“The Brady group repeatedly endorsed Swalwell and worked with him, invited him to speak at their New York gala and happily supported his gun ban proposals,” Gottlieb continued, “but quickly abandoned him and tried to make their association disappear. We’re not going to let that happen.

Women speak out about their lurid encounters with Swalwell.

“Maybe the Brady group should change its title to the ‘Brady Campaign to Prevent Sexual Violence,’” Gottlieb suggested, “especially since guns don’t commit violence, people do. They’re essentially shooting him in the back and burying him in an unmarked grave.”

For now, the legal and political implications are still unfolding.

Swalwell’s future remains uncertain, the allegations are being contested, and organizations once closely aligned with him are rapidly creating distance.

“What Swalwell allegedly did was despicable,” Gottlieb observed. “What the Brady Campaign is doing—making his name invisible on their website—is both cowardly and futile. History has recorded their past association, and that’s a stain you cannot wash away.”
