Texas Woman Shoots Road Rage Attacker!

in News

A road rage confrontation in Houston turned into a self-defense situation when a woman, blocked in and physically attacked, defended herself with a firearm.

The incident, caught on video, highlights the importance of being armed—especially in a state like Texas, where the Castle Doctrine extends to vehicles.

When Houston Road Rage Turns Dangerous

It all started on February 13th when a man cut off a female driver, stopped in the middle of the road, and boxed her in. Instead of letting her pass, he got out of his car and physically attacked her.

At that moment, she had two choices:

  1. Hope he stopped after the first punch.
  2. Defend herself.

She chose the latter. With one shot, the attacker stumbled back, realizing he made a massive mistake. He fled the scene but was later arrested—grinning in the back of a squad car like he had just won a prize.

Texas Law Protects Self-Defense

Texas’ Castle Doctrine allows the use of deadly force inside a home or vehicle when someone is being attacked.

This case is a textbook example of why that law exists. If she hadn’t been armed, this could have ended very differently.

The Ugly Reality: She Could Still Be Sued

While she was likely justified under criminal law, there’s still a major problem—she could be sued in civil court.

That’s the frustrating part about self-defense cases in America. Even when someone is clearly in the right, they still have to lawyer up and fight back in court.

The Takeaway: This Is Why Carrying Matters

Being armed isn’t about looking for trouble. It’s about being prepared when trouble finds you.

This case serves as a stark reminder: if you’re attacked, you are your first line of defense.

What do you think? Was she justified, or should she have handled it differently?

Well, well, well. Look at the road racers. Figured that much.

Too bad she did’t do two double taps. Center mass and second one higher up.

What was HE thinking? Better yet, what was SHE thinking – ‘I’ll pop him one time and hope it scares him off’? Did she roll down her window to exchange pleasantries with him? This guy is SO lucky she didn’t empty the gun in him, or at least double-tapped him in his face or chest. What did she shoot him with, a BB gun? It sure didn’t seem to faze him as he sat in the back of that patrol car smiling. If hard to sue someone if you’re dead on the ground … just say’n.

In my world, there would have been 3 rounds minimum. The ole triple tap. If this victim was close by here, I would offer some range time.
Also from what I surmise, the perp doesn’t look like he was hit by the shot?? What caliber was used???
If you pull a gun in a situation like this, then use it until the world is flat where the aggressor stood, especially after punching some one in a car!

I think we can all agree he should have been removed from the gene pool. But it does my heart good knowing the lady was able to defuse the situation. My friend-girl has carried a .45 Colt Commander in her purse for 30 years – and practices with it regularly. I bought a Glock 36 for her, which weighs about 1/2 as much, but she prefers that damn Commander! Whatever you can comfortably carry and shoot!

The reason the creep was smiling is because he knows his lawyer will shop a sympathic judge and get a left leaning jury installed. She’s toast. This is why I belong to two organizations that will cover this type of expense. I think it’s long past time we institute a national ” no fault” self defense insurance program. If your a criminal and you attempt to sue your victim it’s a no go. Go to your own insurance company for restitution. Oh you don’t have it?. Gee that’s too bad.
