BREAKING: Demolition Ranch Is Calling It Quits!

in News, Uncategorized

Well, folks, it’s official—Matt Carriker, the king of Guntube and the mastermind behind Demolition Ranch, is hanging up his YouTube holster.

And no, this isn’t some elaborate clickbait stunt. The man is actually retiring from the internet’s most explosive firearms channel.

After nearly two decades on YouTube, over 11.8 million subscribers, and a whopping 2.5 billion views, Matt is pulling the plug on his larger-than-life online presence.

The reason?

He’s ready to slow down, spend more time with his family, and, well, actually enjoy life outside of the limelight.

As he put it, “I’m not going to look back and say I wish I made more YouTube videos.”

From 12 Cents a Night to YouTube Royalty

Let’s rewind the clock. Back in 2007, a young, broke college student named Matt was just making videos for fun. He wasn’t trying to be famous—he was just sharing goofy clips with friends.

Then came the golden moment: a viral video of his sister’s pet deer playing soccer with their black lab. That one clip earned him a jaw-dropping $700 in one night, and boom—he was hooked.

Fast forward to 2011, Demolition Ranch was born, fueled by Matt’s love of firearms and a touch of mad scientist energy.

Custom shotgun shells, ballistic experiments, and the kind of wild “what if” tests that made every gun lover’s dreams come true. The channel exploded—literally and figuratively—becoming the largest firearms channel on YouTube.

And that wasn’t enough for Matt. He launched Vet Ranch to showcase his work as a veterinarian, Off The Ranch for his off-the-wall home projects, and Bunker Branding for apparel.

Oh, and somewhere in there, he also bought and built the 350-acre Desperado Resort in Boerne, Texas. The man was a content machine.

Why the Big Exit?

So why step away when everything is still booming?

Simple: life moves fast. His kids are growing up, time is flying, and he doesn’t want to look back and feel like he missed the important moments.

Matt admits he’s “wound up pretty tight,” always thinking, always working. And rather than trying to “half do” YouTube, he’s making a clean break. The resort is officially for sale (yes, it’s real, not a scam), and he’s ready for the next adventure—whatever that may be.

Maybe he’ll return to veterinary work. Maybe he’ll just enjoy some well-earned peace and quiet. Either way, Demolition Ranch is winding down, and so is his time as an internet personality.

What’s Next?

Don’t panic just yet! He’s not leaving today. There are still a couple of months of videos left as he ties up loose ends, including finishing that long-awaited Hummer build and making sure his crew lands on their feet.

If you’ve got an Airbnb stay booked at Desperado Resort, you’re safe through the summer. In fact, he’s encouraging people to book more stays while they still can.

So, for those who’ve been here since the dog vs. deer days or just recently stumbled onto the Demolition Ranch madness—the team thanks you for being part of the ride.

As for Matt, he’s ready to see what life looks like without a camera in his hand. And honestly? He’s earned it.

As Matt might say… get your shoes on. We’re going home.

I can only imagine maintaining a You Tube channel at this level can be draining, mentally AND physically! Great work over the years!
