Biden Holdovers Weaponize Ruling to Crush Gun Industry

Gun Owners of America is raising the alarm about a coordinated legal assault on major firearms retailers by the DOJ and New York Attorney General Letitia James — using the Supreme Court Vanderstok ruling as cover to retroactively punish lawful gun sales.

In a recent Minuteman Moment, GOA’s Ben laid it out plain: Brownells, Primary Arms, 80% Arms, and others are being dragged into court by DOJ lawyers still loyal to Biden’s anti-gun agenda.

And they’re teaming up with Letitia James, who was recently referred to DOJ for prosecution herself — yet she’s still spearheading a crusade against the gun industry.

It all stems from a lawsuit New York filed back in 2022, targeting retailers for shipping 80% lowers and frames — perfectly legal at the time.

These so-called “ghost guns” weren’t considered firearms under federal law from 2016 to 2022, a fact that ATF affirmed in writing more than once.

But now, the DOJ and New York are trying to rewrite history, claiming that these businesses broke the law before the law was even changed.

The kicker? DOJ intervened after the original complaint, piggybacking off New York’s lawsuit as if it had been there all along.

Then, this month, those same Biden-era lawyers filed new briefs claiming that the Supreme Court’s Vanderstok ruling gives them all the retroactive authority they need to hammer the industry.

Never mind that Vanderstok is being widely criticized as a constitutional misstep — they’re using it anyway.

As Ben explained, this is a naked attempt to “ravage the firearms industry” by holding gun sellers liable for products that were entirely legal at the time.

It’s legal warfare at its worst — and it’s happening under a DOJ now headed by AG Pam Bondi, who’s promised to protect the Second Amendment. Yet somehow, Biden’s holdovers are still fighting the last administration’s battles.

GOA is calling for answers. Why is the DOJ still listed as a plaintiff in this case? Why hasn’t it withdrawn from the lawsuit? And, why are rogue anti-gun lawyers still running wild inside the DOJ?

Bottom line: this is lawfare — a political hit job disguised as legal action — and it’s proof that simply changing leadership isn’t enough. These cases need to be reined in, and the people responsible need to be held accountable.

Our firearm regulations are in desperate need of an update! Technology has come so far since the last major overhaul and with things like parts kits and 80 percent lowers and 3D printing, law enforcement needs to be allowed to get proactive to find 21st century solutions to 21st century challenges!

James seems to be headed for political and legal infamy for the most rank hypocrisy in US history. James has brought costly and perplexing charges against her vowed political target, Trump, but in the most shocking turn of events is facing very strong evidence of real estate and tax fraud charges herself. As if that were NOT enough, James is also suspected of using over $40,000 in taxpayer funds to cover the cost of private air travel. This is the same AG that brought charges against the NRA for financial misconduct, that specified air travel costs as one of the charges. What arrogance.

All of US have heard the often quoted, empty words, “no one is above the law.” This was the way Democrats mocked their political counterpart’s while the well-connected crime families of Biden, Clinton, Pelosi etc. overlords looted the US. James should be one of the first dominoes to fall fast and hard. Just for the appearance of impropriety, she should be disbarred and if convicted she should be fined and imprisoned.

Still, it should be pointed out that James is one of the many AGs’ that was put in power by the vilest person in the US today, George Soros. Among the hard left AGs’ Soros has sowed into the highest legal office of the US are James, Kim Foxx, George Gascon, Merrick Garland, Alvin Bragg, Chesa Boudin et cetera.

I remember years ago reading about a cold war traitor named Richard Hanssen. Hassen was a Chicago Police Officer and later an FBI Agent who spied for the Soviets. Among the information Hanssen provided the Communists was that the key to obtaining power in a Western government is controlling the various AG offices. Hanssen formed this opinion from observing the years of the Daley crime family in Chicago and more than likely Soros read the same book I did and he took Hassen’s words to help him gain control of the US.

Every bit of power in the DOJ should be used to strip the Soros family of their ill-gotten gains and destroy this evil father and son.

If you want to get rid of a corrupt AG, Paxton definitely fits that bill. But I guess he is running against Cornyn (where did he announce he was running?), one of few GOP Senators open to bipartisan action, so he cannot run for AG again. Hey – maybe I can vote for Beto again! Maybe he has learned from his past losses and will do better this time.

Maybe Beto can be our next AG!

Thought you would have appreciated Paxton for ending the Bush dynasty. Thought you would have appreciated Paxton and his legal team for the great defense in securing justice. Thought you would have for just once said, ‘good job Kane, I cannot find anything to grip about because Lettitia is even worse than you say.’

so where will law enforcement and military get their guns if no american companies are around to make them?

    • Jake April 18, 2025, 11:02 am

Right now we get everything from FN in Belgium and SIG from Switzerland and Germany. Some HK (416,417) from Germany. Combat shotguns from Italy. They may have US factories but not US owned.

as a country that is prime real estate to the world, we shouldn’t be buying our weapons from foreign countries.

        • Jay Smith April 18, 2025, 5:21 pm

Also shouldn’t be allowing ANY non-Ally country to buy a single acre of our land. Much less farms , large buildings housing businesses, etc. Lookin at you China …

    • MeSeaHunt April 21, 2025, 2:51 pm
