BANISH Suppressors has launched its new Competition Series with two models built specifically for 6mm and 6.5mm cartridges.
The BANISH COMP 6.5 SS and COMP 6.5 TI use a dedicated .264-caliber bore. That makes them a more specialized alternative to running a .30-caliber suppressor on a 6.5mm rifle.
Both models target precision shooters, competitors and hunters. The main choice comes down to stainless steel or titanium.
Brake or Maximum Suppression
Each suppressor includes two interchangeable front-end configurations.
Shooters can install the included two-port brake for additional recoil control and flatter tracking. They can also use the flat 6.5mm muzzle cap when maximum sound reduction matters more.
BANISH reported an average of 130.8 decibels at the shooter’s ear with the flat cap installed. Testing used a 20-inch 6.5 Creedmoor bolt-action rifle.
The average increased to 142.9 decibels with the brake. That louder configuration trades some sound reduction for lower recoil and a quicker return to target.
Both models use a six-baffle design and measure 1.61 inches in diameter.
Stainless Steel or Titanium
The BANISH COMP 6.5 SS uses welded, tubeless stainless-steel construction.
It measures 5.5 inches and weighs 12.2 ounces with the flat cap. Installing the brake increases its length to 6.65 inches and weight to 14.6 ounces.
BANISH positions the stainless model for competition rifles and shooters expecting higher round counts. It carries an MSRP of $1,129.
The BANISH COMP 6.5 TI uses welded titanium to reduce weight.
It weighs 8.7 ounces with the flat cap and 10.4 ounces with the brake. Its length remains 5.5 inches or 6.65 inches, depending on the configuration.
The lighter titanium model appears better suited for hunting rifles and field use. Its MSRP is $1,499.
Broad Cartridge Compatibility
Despite their 6.5 designation, both suppressors support cartridges ranging from .22 Creedmoor through 6.5 PRC.
Each model uses an industry-standard HUB mounting system. BANISH also includes a 5/8×24 direct-thread adapter.
Both suppressors feature a Cerakote finish and come in black or FDE. Neither model carries a full-auto rating.
The COMP 6.5 models are made in the United States and covered by the BANISH lifetime warranty. Owners also qualify for the company’s service program during the first year.
