NEWINGTON, N.H., (March 13, 2025) – SIG SAUER is pleased to announce the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico has officially entered an Order dismissing the lawsuit (Berrios v. Sig Sauer) alleging the P320 service weapon of police officer Elvis Ramon Green Berrios (the “Plaintiff”) discharged without the trigger being pulled. Mr. Berrios voluntarily dismissed his action against SIG SAUER admitting in court filed documents that his P320 pistol has no defects and does not discharge without a trigger pull.
Throughout the nearly three years of litigation in this lawsuit, SIG SAUER has vigorously defended the safety, quality, and manufacturing of the P320. This admission that the P320 is not defective was gained after SIG SAUER presented detailed scientific evidence showing that the P320 cannot fire without a trigger pull and contains no manufacturing defects. This decision marks the 18th frivolous or unsupported P320 unintentional discharge lawsuit dismissed against SIG SAUER.

“We are extremely pleased with the result in this case, which further demonstrates what so many in our industry already know: the P320 cannot fire without the trigger being pulled and is the gold-standard for safety, innovation, engineering, and quality, among striker-fired pistols,” said Samantha Piatt, Senior Director of Communications, SIG SAUER Inc. “As we continue to put to rest the malicious and misleading attacks against one of the most popular pistols ever made, we are committed to supporting the millions of law-abiding citizens, law enforcement agencies, and elite military units carrying our pistol every day around the world.”
The design of the SIG SAUER P320 is safe and innovative, with numerous related patents, including several relating to safety mechanisms. It is among the most tested, proven, and successful handguns in recent history, with versions being selected as the official sidearm of the U.S., Canadian, Australian, and Danish militaries, among many other military and law enforcement organizations worldwide. SIG SAUER is extremely proud of our long history of producing high-quality firearms and our unwavering dedication to safety.

*** Buy and Sell on GunsAmerica! ***
This is untrue, more gaslighting by Sig.
that’s all nice and dandy , but what about all the law enforcement folks that have had the 320 discharge on them, hundreds of police units ain’t getting rid of the weapon for nothing
And you’re all doubling-down instead of just admitting fault and correcting an issue that’s clearly been proven time and time again including multiple multi-million dollar lawsuits. Then you continue to blame “anti-gunners”. The serious blowback you’re experiencing right now is mostly coming from folks that are honestly concerned about our rights being eroded by companies who place profit over basic morality. Every company makes mistakes, and that’s ok. Great companies learn from them and move forward. Cowards are overcome by greed and try to hide the truth. I’ll never buy anything from this sham website or any manufacturer that is this morally corrupt. Lives and rights are on the line. Try to focus on that.
Hold on. You make that statement and then call this website a “sham”. For reporting the news??? And then act as if you’re being “moral”???
You do know the definition of ‘hypocrisy’ don’t you?
If you are moral, you owe an explanation, or apology to all.
Do you get all of your news from a source that sells the exact product in “the news”? I don’t doubt that this case was dismissed, but there are more cases that have not turned out that way. Sig has lost millions to lawsuits already with many cases still pending. There is no reporting on that. They issued a voluntary upgrade when the issue first became public, but now they say there was never an issue. Why offer a fix? The official response from Sig here included the line “the P320 cannot fire without the trigger being pulled”. There are multiple videos, pictures, and explanations of how to make the 320 doing just that. Also, you may know that the striker is in the rearward or “cocked” position on these pistols when loaded. You may not be familiar with basic mechanical design principles, but this is a much more precarious way to carry on a loaded chamber- especially with zero mechanical safety. There are multiple people injured, at least one dead, and public health is literally on the line. I care very much about public safety, the 2nd Amendment, and moral principals such as accountability and intellectual integrity. If the gun industry is going to continue to thrive, it will hopefully be with principles like this at the forefront. Sig and GunsAmerica had their chance to do the right thing, but they are continuing to deny facts that are clearly evident for what appears to be for monetary gain. I do not see or feel the need to apologize to anyone. What are you seeing in my words that reflects hypocrisy here? I’m not seeking to gain anything, and I don’t have any financial stake in this discussion at all. I have nothing to gain except hopefully more accountability from a couple of corporations that have a large impact on public health and safety.
