An Everyman’s AR? The Ruger AR-556 – Full Review.

An Everyman’s AR? The Ruger AR-556 – Full Review.

When it comes to rifles in the U.S., none has ever been more popular than the AR-15. I personally think that one of the reasons for the mind-numbing popularity of the AR-15 is because the platform has a military-proven pedigree, can be had at a reasonable price, and is ear-to-ear-smile fun all day long. It makes perfect sense then, that Ruger would make it a point to market an AR rifle for everyday Americans – because providing quality affordable guns to mainstream America is what Ruger does. And it did it with the AR-556.

Magnum Research is well known for its big and powerful Desert Eagle pistols, but it has been taking a slightly different tack with new variants they were showing at SHOT Show 2017. While they are still big and powerful, Magnum Research has worked to make them lighter and more portable. Take a look at some of the interesting new offerings on show at SHOT Show 2017.

With a 34mm tube and a 28mm objective lens, Trijicon’s new scope is plenty bright. It’s as suited for tactical guns as it is on hunting rifles.

The DoubleStar PHD 1911 .45 ACP – Full Review.

While it was once possible to get into a solid American-made 1911 for around $500.00 all day long, that number has almost doubled in many cases. If you are looking for some of the most popular features you may get closer to twice even that. Move up to semi-customs and full customs and the price can reach the stratosphere. For all but a few it’s just too much, prompting a return to basics, and more than a few companies are starting to do just that, including Doublestar.

Cooking With Gasoline – Prepping 101 – Season 3! – Coleman 533, 424 Dual Fuel Reviews

This week I finally dragged out my gasoline stoves. And the reason I waited so long is because I just assumed that they worked (they did), and I assumed that most survival minded folks have seen a dual fuel Coleman stove (not so much). If you watch the video, I brought in a couple other Chinese stoves that may be a better buy than the Coleman stoves, and they are certainly more portable. But first I want to back up a bit and address the point that I made in the video about cooking in general, and cooking specifically with gasoline.

SIG SAUER RIMFIRE SILENCER: THE SRD22X – SHOT SHOW 2017

SIG seems like they are poised to try and take over the world right now, and from the new products I have seen this year that wouldn’t be a bad thing. No surprise then when we saw the new SRD22X rimfire silencer and were told it is the quietest one on the market.

Is The M9 Dead? First Look at Beretta’s New Striker-Fired APX 9mm

Two weeks ago, GunsAmerica got the invite to attend the Beretta Tactical Summit hosted at The O’Gara Group training facility in Virginia. The choice of venue was a deliberate step by Beretta as they aggressively step back into the tactical market, and featured toys from across the Beretta line. It was a really nice change from usual product releases, and the facility offered a chance to really wring out the new APX 9mm striker-fired pistol. We had to hold off publishing due to an embargo on info on the pistol, but finally, its day has come.

Sometimes you just must stop and go, “Have I seen everything?” As I got a chance to look at Adler Arms at SHOT Show 2017, I realized that they were not another me-too company. They had shotguns for hunting, sporting and tactical purposes. This included various schemes of Cerakote, wood and all manner of bolt-on products and accessories. You could pick any length barrel you wanted from 10 to to 28 inches., Oh, and they are all lever actions.

External Hammer Coach Shotgun Under $300 – Century Arms JW2000 Review

{ 32 comments }

This past year Century Arms figured out a way to get a classic externally hammered coach sized side by side into the hands of American shooters for under $300. As you can see from the video, the gun has a bunch of ugly markings on it, but it works great.
