BY GunsAmerica Actual Published: July 13, 2014 { 46 comments }I just got home from “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (trailer below), and it was nothing like I expected. This was due in part to an article on InfoWars suggesting that the movie had a subtle anti-gun message. Those of you who are regulars here know that I have been critical of Alex Jones and his team in the past over 2nd Amendment issues because they seem to make them into a joke. Never will you see interviews with the hard working gun statistics experts out there, and you also never see any of the very smart editorialists at the NRA. Instead, after Sandy Hook we got a circus of a petition to deport an anti-gun CNN host, and this week followed in that same vein with a sloppy opinion that somehow this very pro-gun movie is somehow the opposite.
Caldwell Brass Trap – Catcher – Product Review – Save Your Brass and Your Back!
BY GunsAmerica Actual Published: July 13, 2014 { 11 comments }Who hasn’t been at the range after an afternoon of shooting and dreaded picking up the brass? Sometimes you can just sweep it into a pile and use a shovel to scoop it into a bucket, but there are always the few that you have to bend over to get. If you shoot in your back yard as we do here in Florida, you have no cement floor and handy sweep up. Brass picking becomes a chore.
Return of the Revolver – S&W 686 Plus New Gun Review
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: July 13, 2014 { 155 comments }Smith’s homepage cites the intended purposes of their guns, and they say the 686 with its 6 inch barrel is good for recreational shooting, home protection, and handgun hunting. I tend to concur. While it wouldn’t be my first choice for duck hunting, it can do just about everything else. If I could only own one gun (God forbid), my choice would be easy: I’d take this 686.

We want guns that work, and we don;t want to pay premiums for brand names. Well, here’s one. The Bersa BP9CC is a kickass way to carry concealed. The price tag isn’t going to knock you over, but the gun’s performance just might.
Nothing Traditional about Traditions’ Vortek .50
BY Sam Trisler Published: July 12, 2014 { 15 comments }The Traditions Vortek striker- fired in-line muzzleloader shoots more like a GLOCK than it does your average flintlock, yet the high-tech rifle can still be used during those extra days of hunting season when the center-fire rifles and shotguns are forbidden. But once you have the gun loaded and ready, you may not be able to tell the difference.
MIAMI POLICE TO PUBLIC – ARM YOURSELF NOW!!
BY S.H. Blannelberry Published: July 11, 2014 { 43 comments }“If the mayor’s not going to provide security, then my recommendation, as an experienced law enforcement officer for nearly 40 years, is either buy yourself an attack dog, put bars on your windows and doors and get yourself some firearms because you’re going to have to protect yourselves. We won’t be able to.”– John Rivera, president of the Miami-Dade Police Benevolent Association.
