Short & Light: Rossi’s LWC Fits the Bill — SHOT Show 2025

in Levi Sim, SHOT Show 2025

Rossi has been making single shotguns for some time, and their turkey shotguns are especially well-known. This new Light Weight Carbine is remarkably small. You might need a Rossi LWC in every caliber — and you could afford it.

Rossi LWC: Light Weight Carbine

This gun looks like it’s too short to own without a stamp for a short-barreled rifle, but looks are deceiving. It appears short because its break-open action doesn’t require the length we normally see with a bolt action.

the LWC rifle is hanging on a wall facing to the right. It has a large optic mounted.
No, the picture isn’t cut off: Rossi’s LWC is really that short.

The barrel is 16.5″ long, but starts just in front of the chamber, much farther back on the forend than a bolt action barrel. Its overall length is just 31.5″. And without all that action metal, it weighs just 5.25 pounds.

Suppressor-Ready

Suppressors are ideal with the LWC’s short and light footprint. It could be an ideal hunting rifle. With a suppressor, it’ll still be shorter than many guns. Its thick barrel is there 5/8″-16. Also, it’s chambered in calibers that are ideal for use with suppressors:

  • .357 Magnum
  • .350 Legend
  • .300 Blackout
  • 5.56 NATO
  • 6.5 Creedmoor (coming soon)
  • 8.6 Blackout (coming soon)

Can you believe guns still cost this little?

Rossi keeps this gun’s price low. Remember when all kinds of rifles were available for $300? At $333.99, you’ll find good sales that won’t break the bank.

Cool gun for filling a niche. I would dare to say this may only be new to Rossi. I have a CVA V2 Scout in 444 Marlin that is a tack driver and also breaks down. If it were me, I would go that route again.
