The Ruger American Compact is a striker-fired, semi-automatic compact pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. It features a stainless steel slide with a black nitride finish, Novak LoMount Carry , and an integral Picatinny (1913) accessory rail. The pistol uses a one-piece, precision-machined, black-nitrided stainless steel chassis fitted into a glass-filled nylon frame and ships with interchangeable grip modules. The Compact ships with two nickel-Teflon-plated steel magazines (a 17-round extended magazine and a 12-round compact magazine) and is offered in configurations with or without an external manual thumb safety.
