At Shot Show 2024, we caught up with Adam from Holosun to explore the latest additions to their product lineup. The focus of this conversation?
Holosun’s new laser module and advanced illuminators, which are priced to upend the night vision and tactical equipment market.
IRIS Laser
The star of the show is the Holosun Integrated Rifle Infrared System (IRIS) laser module, a relatively affordable option for night vision enthusiasts. Unlike most laser modules restricted to law enforcement or military, the IRIS module brings a quality option to civilians.
Priced at around $800, it features an IR laser, IR illuminator, and visible laser. Also, Adam points out the standout feature—an innovative slider switch for the IR illuminator. This offers a tactile feel without compromising usability. The reduced size, included pressure pad, and price make it a compelling choice for night vision users.
For those unfamiliar with night vision equipment, Adam breaks down the complexities. The IRIS laser module includes a visible green laser and an invisible IR laser. What sets it apart is the seamless alignment of the two lasers, simplifying the zeroing process.
This means that if you zero the visible green laser, the IR laser will be zeroed as well. Furthermore, the IRIS laser should be hitting the market in the second quarter of this year.
RAID Weaponlight
Moving on to illuminators, Holosun introduces the RAID flashlight, boasting 80,000 Candela and 1,000 lumens. Priced at approximately $180, this compact powerhouse comes with multiple mounting options, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
Additionally, Adam emphasized the importance of Candela over lumens for better throw and visibility downrange. With its magnetic charging and an internal 18650 battery, the RAID flashlight is a practical and affordable addition to the lineup.
P.ID-K & P.ID-K-Plus Pistol Lights
The P.ID-K and P.ID-K-Plus illuminators offer condensed versions of the RAID, with 10,000 Candela and 1,000 lumens. The Plus version includes a built-in green laser, providing additional utility for users.
Priced between $140 and $180, these illuminators offer affordability without compromising performance.
As for holsters, details are still in the works, but Adam hints at their compatibility with standard duty holsters due to their relatively wide build. Say tuned as we get some of these new lights and lasers in for full reviews. More in depth information will be heading your way soon.
