BELLEVUE, WA – A stabbing spree in Seattle reaffirms what the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has maintained, that restrictive gun control laws do not prevent violent criminals from carrying out mayhem, but only prevents honest citizens from defending themselves.
Even more alarming are reports that the suspect in this case has had nine felony convictions over the past ten years, and that he also has misdemeanor convictions on his record, and at the time of the stabbing incidents, he was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.
“Just what does it take for anti-gunners, in Seattle and elsewhere, to figure out their gun control policies have been abject failures,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb questioned. “While Washington state gun control advocates from the Seattle City Council up the chain to Attorney General Bob Ferguson and Gov. Jay Inslee have gleefully pushed to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens, violent crime has continued. The number of homicides in the state has doubled in the past ten years, and the number of murders in Seattle tripled with last year’s record.

“Not only is the suspect in custody for five stabbings last Friday,” he continued, “he is believed to be connected to at least four of five earlier random stabbing attacks. With incidents such as this headlining local and national news, it is no wonder why more than 700,000 concerned Washington citizens have obtained concealed pistol licenses, including more than 112,000 in King County, which encompasses Seattle. We say good for them, because if the state won’t protect innocent people from violent criminals, then the public will respond accordingly.
“All this really proves is that making gun laws more restrictive hasn’t worked,” Gottlieb said. “Inslee and Ferguson supported a ten-day waiting period and an enhanced background check for gun purchases. There are no waiting periods or background checks on knife purchases. They supported a ban on semi-auto rifles and original-capacity magazines, but it was all flash no substance intentionally designed to fool people into believing something has been done about violent crime. But violent crime and murders are still happening. The gun control agenda is and always has been doomed to failure because it creates a false sense of security. Anti-gunners blame firearms and penalize honest owners when what is needed is to hold criminals accountable and when they’re convicted of multiple felonies, they need to be locked up and kept away from the public.”

All these violent crimes in Seattle and the nation are not because there are more guns on the street..its because there are more criminals on the street. 10 felonies and still on the street..are you kidding me. How many of those were violent crimes. The failure is NOT with our gun laws it IS with our court system.
Thanks to Jay Inslee and Sideshow Bob Ferguson. I wonder why Ferguson hasn’t prosecuted the guy who was issuing out ARs out of the trunk of his car to CHOP/CHAZ “security? No background check and no “assault weapons” training in accordance with the laws he promulgated…couldn’t be it was just a power grab, could it? Maybe when Seattle’s misery index gets high enough voters will wise up.
maybe the no gun fools do not realize that cain did not have a gun when he killed able. so to commit his evil cain used whatever was available to inflict death. man will use what ever is available to do his evil and no amount of laws will ever stop that.
