The National Shooting Sports Foundation is aware and monitoring the recent policy changes by Shopify. This policy update is misinformed and doesn’t contribute to increasing public safety.

Today two new stories emerged detailing how e-commerce and credit card processing companies have discriminated against gun-related manufacturers. Nevada-based Franklin Armory announced yesterday that Shopify, the host of their online store, suddenly changed their terms of service to disallow the sale of lawful, non-firearm items such as flash suppressors, threaded barrels, pistol grips, and even magazines larger than 10 rounds.

“As mentioned in the [police] report, it is possible that this weapon could have been stolen or misplaced during Sheriff Valdez’s moving transition and she is working with the Dallas County Sheriff Department to locate the firearm,” said spokesman Juan Bautista Dominguez.
