First Guns, Now Knives — Australia Proves Why 2A Is Non-Negotiable

in News

Australia just reminded the world what happens when government overreach becomes standard operating procedure. One violent incident — and now machetes are banned.

Colion Noir didn’t hold back.

Australia has decided to ban certain knives after a gang-related attack.

“A few days ago there was a machete attack at a shopping center in Australia… now machetes are banned,” Noir said in a recent video. “I wish I was making this up.”

After reports of a gang-related brawl in Melbourne’s Northland Shopping Center, Australian officials didn’t stop to examine the root cause. They didn’t ask how gangs got weapons, or why violence keeps erupting despite Australia’s sweeping gun bans. Instead, they did what governments do best: banned something else.

Knives longer than 20 centimeters — gone from shelves. Retailers had just 48 hours to comply.

“This is why every time someone says ‘Well can’t we just compromise a little?’ my answer is no,” Noir said. “Because this is what compromise looks like over time. Guns today. Machetes tomorrow. Toothpicks next Thursday.”

According to Noir, it’s never about the tool — it’s about control.

“If it were, we’d have banned fists and feet by now,” he said. “But fists don’t give the government more control. Guns do. Machetes do.”

He’s not wrong. Australian officials aren’t even banning all large knives. A 19cm carving knife is still perfectly legal. So what’s the logic?

“There is none,” Noir said. “It’s about appearance. It’s about control.”

Noir has spent two decades warning that compromise leads to slow-motion disarmament. And this, he says, is why Americans can’t afford to get comfortable.

“Some of y’all are breathing easy — ‘We’ve got the courts, we’ve got the House, we’re good.’ But presidents don’t last forever. Trump can’t run again,” he warned. “The moment the other side finds someone more likable than Kamala Harris — and that’s a low bar — they’re back in power. And the bans come back.”

He’s seen it happen before: the cycle of complacency followed by panic. The courts may be friendly today, but the anti-gun lobby never rests.

“Today it’s machetes in Australia. Tomorrow it’ll be assault cutlery. Then high-capacity shoelaces,” he joked. “Then maybe they’ll go after the real threat — those deadly plastic straws. Oh wait. They already did that.”

Noir’s point is deadly serious beneath the satire: this is what happens when a nation trades freedom for the illusion of safety.

“We don’t get to rest,” he said. “We stay vigilant. Because the moment we let our guard down, we’re right back where Australia is — trying to figure out whether your kitchen knife is now a criminal offense.”

And while the bans pile up, one question is never asked: How do we help people defend themselves?

“Empowering people means making the government less necessary,” Noir concluded. “And that’s the one thing they’ll never allow.”

What do you think of Australia’s new ban on certain knives?

IMHO…….There are 3 facts, or if you don’t like the word “facts” call them truisms:
    1) Guns, knives, hammers, rocks, the list is pretty long-don’t kill, rape, torture, maim or threaten people….people do those ugly actions, inanimate objects don’t.
    2) Politicians don’t suddenly appear in office out of nowhere, they get voted in by people.
    3) Such politicians can be voted out of office too.

The real tragedy is that ordinary citizens can and should be responsible for their own destiny. Until such citizens understand my 3 points mentioned above and start exercising point number 3 or bad politicians, they will be subject to all kinds of stupid invasive nonsense that is the opposite of the logical and natural rights we should all enjoy.
I won’t call this a “fact” but I personally believe this to be true: if the justice system does not properly punish and deter criminal and wrong activity, such criminals and crimes will continue to be committed. I respectfully submit my thoughts to all of you “ordinary citizens “ whether you live in the land of OZ, the USA, or any other democratic country.

If bans worked, couldn’t they just ban violence?

      BLAMMO!!!

I guess in OZ there is no way to protect yourself. I stand with the 2nd amendment.

Australian law defines a machete as any knife over 20 centimeters. For us foot and inch types that’s not quite 7.9 inches, not even the length of a decent Bowie Knife. Actually, it is only the state of Victoria banning machetes, Still, it contradicts Australia’s image as a land of rugged independence.
Of course, many American states regulate types of knives you may carry publicly, Texas only got rid of many restrictions in the last decade. People need to remember that not only must we struggle to hold on to freedom, we must struggle to regain freedoms that have been eroded away.

Australia is full of knee jerk, dumbass legislators that don’t have a brain. So is there now any difference between Australia and a subjugated country like Okinawa that was under feudal military control by Japan? I THINK NOT.

If a leftoid only had a brain!

I can make a machete in 15 minutes from a piece of steel from Menard’s. I’m older, and a big strong young man could beat me to death with his fists in about 2 minutes. The point is, they have to break up the gangs, incarcerate or execute drug dealers, and prosecute deadly assaults to the fullest extent of the law. And quit punishing everyone with bans. Arm yourselves! Stay safe. j

    • B Rad June 14, 2025, 12:06 pm

It would not be a very sharp machete, and it would take you more than 15 minutes.

      • Grampa Menard June 16, 2025, 8:24 am

But he would save big money at Menard’s!

This is exactly why the Supreme Court needs to overtime the National Firearms Act (NFA) and the Gun Control Act (GCA) because where does this stop!
I have always said if these government agencies are allowed to go on as they have been since the implementation of the NFL in the GCA this is where we will end up!
Those Constitutional atrocities, should’ve never been allowed in the first place, those are unconstitutional acts and they have done nothing to stop criminality in the use of those “banned weapons” and accessories! as criminal tools and only puts restrictions on law-abiding citizens, which is totally against the tenets of the Constitution!
We need to remind these people on the SCOTUS and the judiciary and the government, that they are not our Lords and Masters!

Oh, F off with your BS. You are nearly 20 times more likely to be murdered with a gun in the US than in Australia. They still have guns, they’re just well regulated. Obviously what they’re doing works, because they don’t have dead kids all over like we do. Grow up.

    • Walleye June 13, 2025, 11:44 am

Oh, F off “None” with your BS.
You’re 20 times more likely to be murdered by your own government if you don’t have guns. I’ll keep mine, thank you very much. Read a history book or two, and grow up.

State your data source on 20 times. When you throw out statistics state the data source or it is just opinion. This is when those like you in the USA say the New York Times, which is a liberal rag with an anti-gun agenda. In other words democratic lie.

Okay, what about when I ask for your autograph with a pen/pencil and a sheet of paper, then wad up the paper and put your eyeballs out with the pen/pencil embedded in the wad of paper? Or even more effectively, remove you from the gene pool by driving said weapon into the nape of your neck thereby disrupting your brain stem and causing instantaneous death? What then? Paper and pencil control? Don’t you understand? No, of course not. It is a hard heart that kills, not the weapon. You are literally the biggest ship of fools in creation.

Do you recall the short fat female cop on the web (who could barely catch her breath) arresting people in Melbourne for not wearing masks? Scared shitless but in power and emboldened with false confidence. Constantly palming her weapon while barking out orders about “mask noncompliance.”
