You Have to See This Gold-Plated Trump 1911! — SHOT Show 2025

in Levi Sim, SHOT Show 2025

Nothing says TRUMP like 24-carat gold plating. And nothing says Cabot, like a finely crafted art piece 1911 pistol.

When President Trump was elected the 45th president, Cabot made the TRUMP 45 pistol. 45 such pistols were made and delivered.

Cabot’s TRUMP 47 launched (and sold out) on President Trump’s Inauguration Day.

They, too, were gold-plated and had American holly grips. The TRUMP 47 takes it all a little further. By the way, the assassination attempt on Donald Trump was just miles from Cabot’s home.

47 pistols will be crafted, including this handsome black walnut stand.

Gold-Plated Damascus Steel

Besides being gold-plated stainless steel, the standout features of the 47 are the Damascus grips and trigger. Cabot is famous for using uniquely forged Damascus steel to craft their guns, often going as far as making images or text appear in the texture.

This is the first time a firearm has gold-plated Damascus parts.

Damascus steel is created by forging many layers of steel of differing compositions. The layers can be made into many textures using various techniques. The different steel alloys react differentially to acid baths. This reveals the texture of the finished steel.

For the first time, Cabot has plated Damascus steel in gold for the grips and the trigger. The result is a stunning texture in the gold with an effective texture for the grips (not that I actually shot this firearm…).

The texture is so striking that Cabot omitted their trademark star cutouts on the trigger to not distract from the Damascus.

The eponymously named pistol fits the President’s style.

Also notably missing are carry cuts on the dust cover. You’ll have to modify your favorite holster before packing this full-size bad boy.

At heart, this is still a precision-crafted 1911.

TRUMP 47 in .45 ACP

Naturally, the TRUMP 47 is chambered in .45 ACP (45th President… .45 ACP…).It’s stippled on the front and back straps, with the same texture on the magazine release. The barrel is crowned for accuracy and meticulously jeweled down its length on the outside surface.

The slide has vertical striations at the back for gripping, while the top and the rear sight are also striated to reduce glare…which may not function as designed on this handgun.

Cabot’s next challenge will be striations in gold that truly reduce glare.

The left side is engraved with “TRUMP 47”, while the right side is engraved with “47th President of the USA.” Although gold-plated, this is a fully-functioning 1911.

The majestic display stand is crafted from American black walnut with angles suggesting movement upward and forward. The stand was created by Steve Parker, a former nuclear engineer, who works frequently with Cabot.

It includes a precision-milled pocket for the jeweled-steel magazine with a gold base plate. Regular 1911 magazines will also function.

The barrel is “meticulously jeweled” steel.

You’re Saying There’s A Chance

There will be 47 units made of this handgun, and 45 of those are already sold. The asking price was $29,947. If you missed the launch and the opportunity to buy a TRUMP 47, you’ll still have a chance to get the remaining two units into your hands.

Cabot will announce a charity auction for those two units once they have decided which charity to support, so keep an eye on their socials. In years past, Cabot’s auctions have benefitted groups such as the NRA, the ILA, and the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Why don’t all gun makers use a good font in their engravings?

“Also notably missing are carry cuts on the dust cover.”

There is no dust cover to be found on John M. Browning’s patent for the 1911 pistol.

I didn’t know that about the dust cover! I was being facetious about the carry cuts — as if anyone will be carrying this pistol 😉

Really? A “Dump 47” 1911? Really? Named after a draft dodger? Really? A guy who craps on veterans? Really? BTW, I’m an Army veteran. I qualified on and shot expert with what we actually used. Yes, I earned and wore the Army uniform. Disgusting to me, a veteran!!

      Lighten up Francis

Ok, Mr Expert…what you “actually use” is much easier to shoot and more accurate than a 1911. What do you want, a medal or a chest to pin it on?

Sure you are. You probably couldn’t even make it through boot camp because it was too hard.
