Trump Drops the Hammer: Executive Order Targets Biden’s Anti-Gun Legacy

in News

Four years of attacks on the Second Amendment? Over.

President Donald Trump just signed an Executive Order that kicks off a full-blown takedown of Biden-era gun restrictions.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) are cheering this move, and gun owners across the country should be, too.

Biden’s Anti-Gun Agenda on the Chopping Block

This order directs the Attorney General to dig deep into every anti-gun policy pushed from January 2021 through January 2025. That means:

  • ATF rules that restricted law-abiding gun owners? Under review.
  • Enhanced enforcement against Federal Firearms Licensees? Getting the microscope treatment.
  • Gun classifications, licensing delays, and Biden’s “Office of Gun Violence Prevention” nonsense? All on the table.

The goal? Erasing four years of unconstitutional overreach that treated your gun rights like a privilege, not a right.

SAF & CCRKBA: “It’s About Time”

SAF’s Executive Director Adam Kraut nailed it:

“It is reassuring that after four long years of the executive branch assaulting our Second Amendment rights, the Trump Administration is investigating avenues to undo the damage.”

CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb wasn’t shy about calling out Biden either:

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris waged war on American gun owners… treating the right to keep and bear arms like a government-regulated privilege. That ended January 20.”

This is what gun owners voted for—a leader who’s not afraid to fight for our rights.

What’s Next?

This order sets the stage for real action, but it’s just the beginning. The Attorney General will now compile a plan to eliminate these unconstitutional policies and make it clear: Americans don’t need permission from the government to exercise their rights.

Gun owners need to stay engaged. Anti-gunners will try to stall, whine, and obstruct, but this is a massive step in the right direction.

Trump is keeping his word to gun owners. Now, we watch as the swamp fights back—but they’re on the losing side of history.

As some have stated, the EO may not have immediate action but with Trump’s administration the 2A agenda is at least going back in the right direction. It’s not realistic to expect all the restrictions and bans to be undone with the snap of a finger. The left has been methodically chipping away our 2A rights for decades. They are playing the long game and we need to counter them in the same way. Some people may complain about Trump but you have to ask yourself who else that is pro 2A would have been able to win this past election with the landslide he had? I appreciate that he’s attempting to do the things that will start getting back some of what we’ve lost all these years.

Make it simple. One action. Abolish the ATF.

  • Brian February 14, 2025, 6:08 pm

Larry Z is very gullible. Nothing concrete was directed, this EO was just a study-the-problem directive sent to a known anti-gunner. Proof will be when action actually occurs, e.g. the ATF is restrained back to a regulatory non-law enforcement mission. Until then, SNAFU.

  • Brian February 14, 2025, 6:06 pm

No “word” has been kept until action occurs. This EO does nothing; it’s the equivalent of study the problem, fix it….and the person who’s doing the studying is a known anti-gunner. We’ve a lot of gullible people on the 2nd Amendment side.

Stuntin’ and frontin’. This guy gets it. He remembers when they played the 2A folks last time.

  • Jerry February 14, 2025, 3:55 pm

As with his thousands of pardons, im not sure he really knew or cared anymore what they were putting in front of him to sign. He even argued, when asked by reporters, that he did NOT sign some of these things
    Bad scene all around, man.

All the obuma/biden ridiculous gun laws were just to satisfy all the anti-gunners that voted for these two clowns. And both clowns knew they wouldn’t reduce gun violence. But both figured they would shine in the pro-democrat media. Neither gave a damn about the violence & deaths caused by all the individual whacko shooters. Anyone who blames an inanimate object for it all is a true left-wing liberal. THANK GOD FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP.

I’ll believe it when I see actual changes and the results of those changes. As of right now it’s still just words and Trump and Pam Bondi have a history of being anti 2A. He’s supposedly pro 2A now but he’s going to have prove it for me to believe it. Pam Bondi I will never trust.

This guy gets it. Trojan horse of the nWo. Promise immigration reform and tarrifs, get bump stock bans and lockdowns. MAGA gettin’ played. Stunt on them hos, Donald. Stunt all over them hos.

Please address Washington states anti 2nd amendment “laws!” Thank You!

    • L February 15, 2025, 11:06 am

      And Colorado’s…

  • Maha February 14, 2025, 11:19 am

If Federal laws are mandatory to be observed over all 50 states, how can citizens living in states infested by Democrats address the assault against their 2A rights? My wife and I just retired and moved to Western Colorado to be closer to our grandchild. While our area is quite conservative, we are still under the thumb of Polis and the loons the Front Range elect to the Senate.
Can the Federal Administration void the push in Colorado to ban almost everything to do with firearms?

    • L February 15, 2025, 11:08 am

      I second this!

  • Tug February 14, 2025, 9:47 am

President Trump should just abolish the ATFE! Also we need to be able to legally concealed carry across state lines
    Get To Work Prez!

    • Blue Dog (he/him) February 15, 2025, 5:28 pm

Ninja please. The comments on this blog last term claimed the most pro-2A President ever would abolish the ATF and take suppressors off the NFA list and he ended up banning bump stocks. Maybe this term he will reinstate the “standard cap” mag ban.

  • Dave Williams February 14, 2025, 9:29 am

Time to go after the Hughes amendment, AKA machine gun ban of 1986.

A federal whistleblower claims that Governor Josh Shapiro “ordered” the failed assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Trump and Alex Soros is also linked to the case. The accuser is one, Hadassah Feinberg, who has worked with the state police in Pennsylvania. At the very least Shapiro should be stripped of all duties of the top LE official in the state and any and all red flag laws that he recently signed should come crashing down on his head. Adult left winger are also very dangerous.

As we have been told over and over again but rarely shown, “nobody is above the law.”

    • Blue Dog (he/him) February 15, 2025, 5:24 pm

Hadassah. “New.” Which is preserved in the text as the Hebrew name of Esther, which is often believed to mean “hidden.”

Hidden, new information. Are you going gnostic on us, Kane?

I am a bit skeptical about Esther meaning hidden. The E- prefix is out of place in first temple, exilic and second temple Hebrew. The explanation that she was renamed for Ishtar makes more sense to me, with her uncle Mordecai/Marduk. But I am more skeptical that Josh Shapiro would have ordered an assassination on a Presidential candidate. A foreign government, maybe. But a state governor? Missing some Marduku-like context.

      • Kane February 15, 2025, 10:15 pm

Watch out when some sects of Christianity start to believe that the Old Covenant includes them. Makes about as much sense as following the example of Marshall Applewhite and his crew.

Actually, my point is much simpler than your OT Bible study. Feinberg accuses Shapiro of being violent and the red flag laws should kick in and Shapiro should be stripped of 2A rights until further notice. Does that seem unreasonable to you?

        • Blue Dog (he/him) February 16, 2025, 9:26 am

Take heart, Kane. None have bewitched me despite my going very First Covenant with my gnostic joke.

Your description of red flags misrepresents what they are meant to do. Whether by malice or lack of understanding of the argument, I expect better from you. Red flag laws bring potential shooters to the attention of law enforcement so they can move proactively to prevent another mass tragedy. You have not accused Josh Shapiro of using a firearm to commit a crime himself; you accuse him of activating some kind of asset. Shapiro had no firearm in his hands for police to sieze to prevent a tragedy. One might as well use red flag laws on violent video game companies!

          • K. N. Kane February 18, 2025, 12:46 pm

I am no expert on the various state “red flag laws” and neither is BD. Nevertheless, I know requirement that the perceived threat must be in immediate possession of a gun while committing a crime. Shapiro is accused of posing a potential threat to himself or someone else by Fienberg. The “other” is/was Trump. You have stated a very narrow interpretation and implementation to these laws that may have no basis in fact. Shapiro should be asked to disclose any firearms he has access to and turn in any firearms he owns and give due process some time to catch up as facts are established. After all, Thomas Matthew Crooks is still a strange mystery, and Shapiro seems to be the only led right now.

I thought you were in favor of all safety first, above all else.

  • Mark N. February 11, 2025, 11:45 pm

It never ceases to amaze me that the people concerned that “youth will have easier access to guns” are oblivious to the fact that throughout the US, no one under 18 is permitted to legally purchase a firearm. (Yes, some states are 21 years old, but the point stays the same.) So if youth are killing each other with handguns, they are not getting them from FFLs, and of consequence no “gun safety” law in the world will reduce homicide from the unlawful possession of firearms by young gang bangers. No magazine size restriction will keep a possessor of a firearm from having more than one magazine. So really, who are the bitter clingers, Mr. Obama? I suspect it is your gun banning allies.
