Trump Declares Support for Gun Owners, Shooting Sports in National Message

On August 4th, the White House released an official proclamation honoring National Shooting Sports Month, and this time, the message didn’t tiptoe around the truth — it doubled down on defending America’s gun-owning heritage.

Trump sends national message to gun owners.
In a time when Second Amendment supporters have grown used to being sidelined or smeared, this presidential message hits like a clean shot from a well-sighted rifle.

“For as long as I am President, the Federal Government will abide by the premise that the God-given right to bear arms shall not be infringed.”

That line alone will raise some eyebrows — and maybe even a few flags. But it wasn’t just talk. President Trump went on to praise hunters, sportsmen, and gun owners as key keepers of liberty, discipline, and responsibility, tying shooting sports to the very core of America’s identity.

“Since the ratification of the Second Amendment in 1791, shooting sports have instilled the values of focus, discipline, and confidence in our citizens—connecting generations, binding together communities, and reminding us of the freedoms that define our Republic.”

The President also spotlighted hunting and fishing as more than pastimes — calling them a way for Americans to experience the “splendors of the great outdoors” and connect with “the beauties of God’s creation.”

It’s rare to see this level of unapologetic support from the highest office in the land. Especially in a cultural moment where firearms are often portrayed as problems instead of proud traditions.

“We recommit to the eternal truth that our constitutional rights do not come from the hands of government, but from the hands of Almighty God.”

That’s not a soundbite — that’s a declaration.

With National Shooting Sports Month underway, this message sends a clear signal: our rights, our traditions, and our heritage matter.

Whether you’re a trap shooter, a deer hunter, or a first-time gun owner learning the ropes, this month — and this message — is for you.

National Hearing Act makes suppressors legal. Courts and DOJ deem suppressors as arms. Then infringing upon bearing them, require a registry of these same NON-TAXED suppressors. This, violating the spirit of the law that forbids registry of firearms, I.e., “arms.” Stop this bullshittery and SCOTUS, grow a pair and rule specifically that suppressors are legal WITHOUT REGISTRATION for those wishing to preserve their hearing. Virtually Zero (0) crimes involved use of any suppressor. Trump, fox this inconsistency causing INFRINGEMENT, Please.

Lot of emphasis placed on outdoors and competition but I saw nothing about defending ourselves. And these are just words. Would like to see some solid action. castrate the ATF, pardon the sailor who was railroaded by Biden’s ATF and justice department, and hold accountable those that participated in the murder of Bryon Malinowski, from the head of the ATF office, the judge who granted the ‘no-knock’ warrant, to the idiots who planned the search and the clowns who did not follow the plan and protocols.

DAT DA BOO SHEET. Tell this to the denizens held captive by the Peoples Republik of Nuevo Yersey.
You have to jump thru the same hoops to purchase a BB pistol as I do to buy a Class III transferable down here in the Sunshine State.

When will the 2A community wake up? The government wants to take away firearms, period. Even THIS government. I mused over the line in the article; ” and this wasn’t just talk” and then the Whitehouse went on to praise outdoorsman. That’s not doing something, that’s just more talk, which seems to be all that we get with this administration. Just had the perfect opportunity to do some real good on the NFA, and we’re supposed to cheer that they brought the tax down to $0. Next time the Dems will raise it through the roof, wait and see. Again, nothing of substance gets done, just like in the last Trump admin. GunsAmerica keeps putting out these articles that amount to nothing more than wishful thinking or more akin to propaganda. Wake up folks!

Great for the president to say this.

  • Frederick I Feuerstein August 8, 2025, 11:27 am

Bullshit. We im washingtanistan know better than most that our government does not care about the2A. If they did, that cocksucker fergesson would be in jail.

Meanwhile he allows the government to continue to infringe on those same 2A rights. We’ve sailed past the days where he can just say BS like that and gain the support of shooters while not following through, the people have finally started to wake up and lip service is NOT enough. Passing small little 2A niblets while ignoring the main infringements isn’t going to work anymore but then it doesn’t really matter for Trump because he’s already in power and will never run for office again. He does however have to have support for his other pet projects so Republicans need to refuse to give that support until he actually ends the main body of 2A infringements created by and protected by state and federal government over the last hundred years.

Much appreciated statement coming from the White House. Really great.
Would also be great if this administration was not trying to sell off America’s public lands which are so necessary for outdoor recreation. Vast public lands, accessible to the public willing to use the great outdoors for recreation, is something that makes America great.

It is refreshing to see a statement from the President that reinforces the Second Amendments value and authenticity for the citizens of this country. It would be even nicer if the United States Supreme Court would get off of their fannies and take the pending cases before them and adjuciate them rapidly. They move so slow that it has to be a deliberate act on their part to prevent the obliviate judges below them from their continued assault on the Constitution of the United States, and especially the Second Amendment. They know that the NFA’34 act and the GCA’68 acts are unconstitutional, but they don’t have the courage to insure that those acts are invalidated as they should be, and should have been a long time ago. There is no rational reason why an individual that wants an “arm”, should ever be denied that right, and the bums in the Congress and the Courts know that! Some of them are simply ignorant, some are authoritarian egomaniacs that believe that they should be the arbiters of what is right and proper, and some are outright Communists and Marxist totalitarians. Those should be removed from any position of authority and never allowed to pontificate from the bench or from the “august” Halls of Congress again. `
