On the SHOT Show floor, Bond Arms shared a collaborative suppressor project started by Third Echelon Development.

Third Echelon has taken a bold leap in attempting to make a dual bore suppressor for Bond’s 9mm derringer. Instead of relying on a removable mount, this design integrates directly with a proprietary barrel developed by Bond.
Wipe Baffle System

This suppressor uses a wipe-based baffel system. Two removable pins retain the wipes inside the body, and the wipes seal each chamber as the bullet passes through. That sealing effect optimizes sound reduction while keeping the overall length short (just over 4”).
The housing is constructed of 7075 aluminum and bolted directly to the pistol’s muzzle. The suppressor stays fixed to the barrel, so users do not need to worry about the suppressor’s bores becoming misaligned with the double barrels during shooting.
Third Echelon explained that the wipes are easily replaceable by the user. The company plans to offer a pre-stensiled mat of the wipe material so users can easily manufacture their own replacement wipes as needed.

Sound Performance and Shot Count
Bond Arms compared the first ten shots (out of each barrel) to a full-size 9mm suppressor and reported slightly lower sound output during those initial rounds. After roughly twenty shots, performance levels settle closer to that of a standard full-size pistol suppressor, which typically runs at nearly double the length.
This drop-off in efficiency is expected as the wipes wear. The design prioritizes low round count efficiency rather than sustained fire.

Caliber Options
The suppressor currently supports 9mm, but Third Echelon confirmed a .45 ACP version is in development. That variant will use a square profile suppressor to maintain proper bullet clearance between wipes while preserving structural strength.
Third Echelon has not finalized pricing. The company stated it aims to keep the complete system under $1,000. That price would include the suppressor and pistol as a complete unit, and they expect to have the 9mm version ready to ship in the next few months.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Third Echelon Development website for when they add the suppressed derringer.
*** Buy and Sell on GunsAmerica! ***

To the various naysayers, have you forgotten that you can use firearms for enjoyment? Not every firearm needs to be purpose built. In a world where I can do nothing but yawn as yet another AR15 variant or polymer frame striker fired pistol is introduced, this is something weird and interesting. I think it’s great that Bond Arms is introducing entertaining and unique designs. I am not criticizing anyone that wants only a serious defensive firearm and enjoys only practicing only serious defensive drills. I got my fill of that in 30+ years as a police officer. Now I would rather knock over cans and shoot clay pigeons with a bolt action .22 rifle. I’m never buying a derringer, suppressed or not, but if you have the means and desire, it’s probably a fun gun to shoot.
Counterintuitive- you want a belly gun to be as loud as possible!
not sure what use it has.
This would be useful with their larger caliber derringers where noise and recoil are an issue over size. Such as .410, 10mm or 45-70. Not 9mm.
For less $$ can get a threaded barrel LifeCard .22lr derringer
WHY?
What kind of person would buy this?
WT ph .??? Seems the only use for that combination is for Assasination Purposes,…Useless otherwise, or maybe a “Cool” Movie Prop Gun.
I very much like this design and it gives me an insight into my own suppressor design I created for my 9 mm Daggers from Palmetto State Armory!
Someone will always come up with a better mousetrap! 👏🏽 👍🏼☺️
Defeats the purpose of a Derringer doesn’t it??
If it was April 1st I’d say it was a joke. I still think it is.
I have nothing to add that hasn’t already been said below.
My immediate thought also was, “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”
They may sell a few to people who have more guns and more money than they know what to do with.
But I can’t imagine anyone carrying this thing for serious self defense purposes.
Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should do it.
That derringer suppressor is the perfect solution for a problem that doesn’t exist. Does it also come with an Elmer Fudd display stand?
Stupid.
The derringer suppressor is the perfect solution for a non-existent problem. Does it come with an Elmer Fudd display stand?
Excellent !!
Can’t wait until they are available .
how embarrassing is this to the company lineup and to have the nutz to display it at the show……. SAD!!!
I don’t see the need for something like this.. As an oddity but to a collection maybe but practical it is not

OK – I’m scratching my head on this one … 🤔
Apparently we have two “Larry’s” – maybe more.
Who would buy a suppressed Derringer in the first place. Bond arms is a joke in the first place making an over weight antique gun. Adding a ugly suppressor to it is a joke. They need to fire their marketing people for such an idiotic monstrosity.
No kidding, the whole purpose of a Derringer is to be easily concealable.
This can be easily concealed in a truck or under an overcoat.
