Late last month, the Campus Safety Act has passed the Georgia House. As it moves to the Senate, it will undoubtedly spark more heated debate. If the bill is passed, Georgia will join nine other states in adopting a law that will allow campus carry.

Former California Sen. Leland Yee will spend five years in prison after pleading guilty to racketeering. The Bay-area politician was a staunch proponent of gun control, yet was willing to import automatic weapons and rocket launchers for suspected terrorist organizations.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed legislation that restores and expands concealed-carry in Virginia for residents and visitors to the state.

“We’ve got to say to the gun lobby, you know what, there is a constitutional right for people to own guns, but there’s also a constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that enables us to have a safe country where we are able to protect our children and others from this senseless gun violence,” she said.

California Sen. Leland Yee was sentenced to five years in prison this week after pleading guilty to a racketeering charge last summer involving his pledge to smuggle in weapons from suspected terrorists in the Phillippines in exchange for campaign contributions.
