The Hearing Protection Act has cleared the first hurdle on its way to becoming law.

The California State Legislature approved a bill this week that would disarm all hate crime offenders, even those with misdemeanor offenses. 

Gov. Abbott has instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety to replace gun permits to any resident who had their cards lost or damaged in the storm. 

“The minute he pulled it out, he cocked it. And I thought, ‘I have to think of something,’” she said.

A group of Oregon lawmakers launched a petition last week to repeal the state’s new confiscatory gun law.

Floridians fleeing Hurricane Irma have been granted an additional means of protection. A 2015 Florida law known commonly as the “hurricane gun law” allows those taking part in a mandatory evacuation to carry a concealed firearm for 48 hours without a valid permit.

Tucson will no longer destroy “crime guns” but will instead look to auction them off.

The program targets the small percentage of city residents that commit the majority of gun-related crimes and offers them the chance to turn their lives around.

Looters made off with nearly 100 firearms in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, says the ATF. The agency is also advising Florida FFLs to prepare for the Hurricane Irma.
