The 14th Amendment grants Congress the power to enact a remedy against state mistreatment of interstate travelers.

In conjunction with every anti-gun group under the sun, New York state lawmakers are pushing a bill to make confiscation easier.

Mark Shanahan at the Boston Globe begins breathlessly, “Yikes. Newest Patriot James Harrison posted a picture of an assault rifle on his Instagram account because, well, we’re not sure.”

“These are simple, easy-to-use devices that increase the firepower and killing power of firearms,” said former state Sen. Raymond Lesniak (D-Union) who sponsored the bill before he retired last week. “There is no legitimate need for these devices.”

“Today the Senate Law and Justice Committee is hearing gun responsibility bills that simply would not have been heard by the previous leadership of the Senate,” said Jeff Potter, program policy director for the Alliance for Gun Responsibilities on Monday.

“They think they’re better shots than the cops are. I call these guys ‘Walter Mitty’ iterations — they think they’re heroes,” Burridge told the Herald.

“We had no idea this ad would become so controversial, but let me be very clear about one point – We are not and do not support Nazis or any white supremacist movement in any shape or form,” said Lincoln A. Osiris, president of Pipe Hitters Union.

Registering guns and licensing gun owners would be tantamount to registering bibles and licensing churches.  Yet no one is calling for a bible registry.  At least not yet.

“I cannot in good conscience support having a fee of any kind for having Nebraskans express their constitutional right,” said state Sen. Mike Hilgers (R-Lincoln).
