The Transport Security Administration, the TSA, found more than 4,200 improperly-checked guns in passengers’ bags last year, setting a new record.

A freshman state representative in Connecticut introduced a bill this week that would raise the tax rate on ammunition in the state to 50 percent. Representative Jillian Gilchrest announced the proposal on Twitter, explaining that her legislation would raise the price of a $10 box of ammunition to $15. She hopes the tax hike will reduce crime in the state by limiting the “use” of ammunition in Connecticut.
