Last week, the Los Angeles City Council by a vote of 14-0 approved an ordinance that would require city contractors to disclose any and all financial ties to the National Rifle Association.

A sheriff’s deputy in Arizona shot an 18-year-old terrorist suspect after the man threw rocks at the deputy and tried to attack him with a knife, local media reported. The suspect survived and was taken into custody where he’s facing two counts of terrorism as well as aggravated assault on a deputy.

David Hogg was ready to launch his career in the public spotlight almost before the man who killed 17 of his teachers and classmates at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School had been taken into custody. Hogg appeared on multiple national news outlets hours after the massacre with a carefully crafted gun ban pitch the American public was ready and willing to hear. Hogg recently appeared on CNN to try to explain how he was so prepared to take advantage of the massacre.

“But we stand here today because for too long the will of the voters was ignored.  That hopefully will change today,” Gov. Sisolak said.

More than half of Washington state sheriffs are openly refusing to enforce the state’s new gun control measures unless they are ruled on by the courts.

U.S. House Democrats on Wednesday barred Republican Rep. Steve Scalise from testifying at a hearing meant to address “gun violence” in the United States. As a victim of gun-related crime and the Republican House Whip, Scalise would normally have been allowed to testify at a congressional hearing so pertinent to his expertise and life experience. Instead, House Democrats denied his request to speak, claiming that too many members of Congress had already requested to speak.

Pollack and Petty were outraged by the way the national media handled the story.  Rather than focusing on how the system failed to prevent the tragedy, the news stories focused on how the NRA and pro-gun activists were to blame for the shooting.
