Author and photographer Ben Philippi, known for his blockbuster God, Guns & Guts, has a new project called “We the People.” Due out sometime mid-2015, the new book is a celebration of American gun owners. Ben’s goal is to create something of a coffee table book showing just how mainstream gun ownership is in American culture.

According to the BATF, how one holds this may constitute a product redesign.

Families of at least nine victims of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, filed a lawsuit on Monday seeking monetary, punitive damages and injunctive relief against the manufacturer of the rifle allegedly used in the shooting.

From the ATF: “Receiver blanks that do not meet the definition of a “firearm” are not subject to regulation under the GCA. The ATF has long held that items such as receiver blanks, “castings” or “machined bodies” in which the fire-control cavity area is completely solid and un-machined have not reached the “stage of manufacture” which would result in the classification of a firearm per the GCA.”

When I got an invite to the factory at Taurus Firearms, I thought I had just scored a free trip to Brazil! But little did I know, Taurus makes many of their guns right here in the USA, near my stomping grounds in Miami. Those of us who were invited from the gun media family got to see how they make the Taurus tipup pistols, called the small frame or Model 22, and many of the .380 TCP parts being made, as well as guns from Taurus’s Heritage cowboy gun series and even some of the OEM parts that Taurus builds for other manufacturers.
