The role of hunting in Colorado has been a good one. The state has some of the largest and healthiest herds in the country.

States around the country have begun to implement policies designed to stop the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), a 100% fatal neurological disorder affecting whitetail deer, moose, and elk.

A federal judge has suspended the first grizzly bear hunt in the lower 48 states since 1991, effectively blocking the Trump administration’s decision to remove the mammal from the endangered species list in the Yellowstone National Park area.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is reporting that an experienced bear hunter was mauled by his prey and hospitalized.

“Gimmicky” might be the best way to describe most long guns featuring more than two barrels, but the new Vierling from gunmaker Johann Fanzoj is anything but a gimmick. The Austrian company has been making firearms for over nine generations, and they’ve spent the last six years crafting a totally custom four-barrel rifle/shotgun for an unnamed customer in the U.S.

“The giraffe I hunted was the South African sub-species of giraffe. The numbers of this sub-species is actually increasing due, in part, to hunters and conservation efforts paid for in large part by big game hunting. The breed is not rare in any way other than it was very old. Giraffes get darker with age,” said Talle.

“And the hunt business we expect, based on our firearm policy, it’s going to continue to be challenged through the balance of the year,” said Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Edward Stack.

Ruger’s Mini 14 is almost certainly on the chopping block, and Norwegian hunters will have three years to either sell or dispose of their now-illegal firearms. Selling a firearm to a buyer in a foreign country can be expensive and time-consuming, so many gun owners will likely be forced to simply destroy their rifles.
