Few companies can claim they have a hand in every avenue of the market. Nowadays, the strategy of the outdoor tycoons is to buy up the corner of the market they’re pursuing. This often isn’t always the best option for the little guy as it creates monopolies. We’ve seen this with some of the more [...]

BY Laura Kovarik Published: September 2, 2017 { 4 comments }Iconic: FN-USA’s FNS-9 Longslide — Full Review
BY Jon Hodoway Published: September 2, 2017 { 13 comments }When you bring up FN in conversation, people will nod their heads. The BAR, The FN FAL and the M2 Ma Deuce would all be quickly added to the discussion as the group thinks began to kick in. Even these additions only scratch the surface, so let me take you through the high points of FN.

The Ultimate Concealable .380 — SCCY CPX-3
BY Fred Mastison Published: August 27, 2017 { 0 comments }The absolute best gun you can have in an emergency is the one you are carrying. For many though, the idea of carrying a full-size pistol is simply a deal breaker. From the guns being too big for a person’s frame to an unwillingness to make clothing changes to conceal the gun, the challenges are real. In cases like this, I steer shooters towards a smaller framed pistol that still has decent firepower, but also has a smaller footprint than full-sized pistols.

A 75-Round Yugoslavian AK-47? Century Arms N-PAP DF
BY Jon Hodoway Published: August 25, 2017 { 15 comments }Following World War II, a group of nations were consolidated into what we referred to as Yugoslavia, ruled by a man named Tito. Not owing his ascension to power to the Soviet Union, but still being a communist, he proclaimed that Yugoslavia would go a third way, part of neither the East nor the West. The Yugoslavian military adopted the basic pattern of the Soviet AKM rifle and made some alterations to adapt it to their doctrine. Rifle grenades were thought of as a huge force multiplier by the Yugoslavians, which resulted in several of those modifications.

BY Clay Martin Published: August 23, 2017 { 39 comments }I am relatively new to the .17 HMR cartridge. When it debuted in 2002, I was guilty of downplaying its effectiveness. Most of my life, Uncle Sugar bought me all the centerfire rounds a growing boy could want, so I didn’t have to worry about training ammo. Now that I have to buy my own [...]
The Perfect Training Rifle: Howa Mini Action in 7.62×39 — Full Review
BY Thomas Gomez Published: August 23, 2017 { 15 comments }Long range shooting is an expensive endeavor. A good rifle, nice scope and ancillary gear can easily set a marksman back several thousand dollars. Shooters on a budget, or those who want to get in a lot of training repetitions, may pick up a rifle that mimics their main long-range rifle relative to weight and feel, but that uses a less expensive round.
