Savage Arms has announced an update to their Stevens 555 O/U shotguns. The 555 has chrome-lined 28-inch barrels with a single selective mechanical trigger and a black finish on the barrels and receiver. The Enhanced version gets a dash of filigreed styling and a shiny finish on the receiver, and is upgraded with automatic extractors. It’s still got a laser-engraved Turkish walnut stock and a classic grip.
The 555e is listed as ambidextrous, so don’t expect any cast or toe angles on the stock. In addition to 12ga, 20ga, 28ga, and .410, the standard 555 is available in 16 gauge, and we expect the same for the Enhanced. It’s manufactured in Turkey by KOFS. We’ll have more details (and more pictures) once we get our hands on it at the NRA show.
