Why Tucker Carlson Calls This the World’s Greatest Rifle

in News

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Shawn Ryan’s latest episode serves up something you don’t see every day: Tucker Carlson laughing his tail off, slinging lead, and talking straight-up gun culture with zero filter.

Ryan drags him out to the range for a raw, unscripted blast-fest featuring everything from cowboy-era revolvers to modern battle rifle, and Tucker dives in like a kid on Christmas morning.

Right out of the gate, Tucker cops to his favorite rifle: a .357 lever gun, specifically a “Brazilian-made Rossi for $450.” He shoots it with iron sights, and (this part had Ryan howling) he chambers it in .38 Special for one simple reason: “Cheaper. Cheaper? That’s why I do it.”

From there it’s a parade of classics. Carlson gushes about .44 Magnum wheelguns, .22 Magnum lever rifles (“just fun”), and the undeniable thump the .357 gets when you run it through a carbine-length barrel. He admits he’s never hunted with it, but plenty of folks where he lives do and his handloading buddy keeps him stocked just in case.

But the episode isn’t just about hardware. Ryan asks Tucker the big question: What does the Second Amendment mean to you?

Tucker doesn’t hesitate: “It’s a hedge against tyranny… These are not rights granted by government. These are rights protected by government. You’re born with these rights, and our job is to protect them.”

He lays it out plain: the right to self-defense, the right to protect your family, and the reality that every right ultimately depends on force. “All rights are in the end guaranteed by force… You have rights too, and they’re guaranteed by the Second Amendment.”

The duo cycles through a table full of steel-ringers. Single-action cowboy guns, a six-inch .357 target revolver, and a new-gen. military rifle running a heavier-hitting cartridge than 5.56. Tucker surprises everyone by ringing steel at distance and even admits he’s never loved the sound of 5.56—“It’s loud in a not-fun way. It’s like, ‘I’m a .223. Boom.’ Settle down.”

The vibe throughout? Loose, honest, unguarded. Tucker jokes about spectators messing up his shots, tells stories about neighbors panicking over drones and gunfire, and even confesses his soft spot for Kubota equipment, down to naming one of his kids after it.

But the heart of the episode is simple. Two guys shooting guns and talking about why freedom matters. Tucker ends up revealing more about himself with every mag dumped and every missed shot.

This is Tucker Carlson like you’ve never seen him. He’s laughing, razzing, missing, hitting, and reminding everyone exactly why the 2A still matters.

It’s one for the 2A time capsule.

I enjoyed watching the video. Just two guys that obviously really like shooting. A little bravado, a little performance pressure, a little exaggeration & BS, but not over produced.
I would go out shooting with them anytime.

Tucker is not a gun guy but if all actors were like him we would be much better off.

Tucker Carlson is a garbage person. No surprise that he likes garbage guns.

I believe Jim & TUC got it right. Tucker is a despicable person.

I watched the episode. Tucker Carlson did more to show what he doesn’t know about guns, than what he does. I find him offensive and very hypocritical. He takes on a different character with each interaction. Attempting to fit in with the person or circumstances he is in.
I would have hoped Ryan would have seen through that.

Nobody cares about tucker anymore. He’s a fool and a clown and does anything he can to make himself relevant again.
