Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

The NVision HALO-C Clipon brings 640×512 resolution and long-range thermal detection to shooters looking for advanced clip-on performance.

Its 50mm model pairs with day optics supposedly up to 30x magnification. Integrated with Applied Ballistics, it communicates with compatible laser rangefinders for precise targeting. NVision says the HALO-C is designed for both tactical and hunting applications.

MSRP in the $12,000 range.

The HALO-C family includes 35mm and 50mm models, each optimized for different fields of view and detection ranges. Users benefit from a 2K OLED display with a 12 µm sensor pixel size. This is supposed to provide sharp thermal contrast even at extreme magnifications.

High Magnification and Smart Ballistics

One standout feature is the HALO-C’s ability to scale menus at up to 30x magnification. This keeps the ballistic calculator and reticle fully usable when zoomed in. Also, the clip-on can receive data from Applied Ballistics or compatible external devices via Bluetooth.

Supported rangefinders include Wilcox, and potentially, Maztech. Other brands that do not integrate with Applied Ballistics will not be compatible.

Menu tools allow for aligning the thermal holdover info to the day optic

The unit weighs between 750–800 grams depending on the model. It also has a front-focus adjustment designed for easy reach on long scopes. Two 18650 rechargeable batteries power the HALO-C. The system is built to meet MIL-STD-810H standards for durability in harsh environments.

Detection and Identification

Detection ranges reach up to 1.84 kilometers on the 50mm model. Recognition at 664 meters and identification at 347 meters. Even in challenging visual conditions, the HALO-C aims to keep targets clearly visible. NVision’s display resolution allows shooters to see ballistic solutions while using high-magnification day optics.

I was told the HALO-C is being optimized for use with higher magnification optics

Availability and Pricing

NVision plans to ship the HALO-C in about two months, with pricing ranging from $12,000 to $13,000 depending on the model. The company emphasizes that the clip-on is designed for users who demand both precision and high-quality imagery under all conditions.

The HALO-C utilizes a QD mount for quickly securing in front of your day optic.

The HALO-C represents a notable step forward in clip-on thermal technology, offering high magnification, integrated ballistics, and rugged performance in a compact package.
