Nighthawk is adding a new member to their Boardroom family of guns, with the all-new Treasurer. It’s the fourth gun in the Boardroom Series, a Fully Machined commander-style 1911 chambered for 9mm Luger.
Owing to its namesake, the Treasurer sports a stainless steel 3.8-inch bull barrel with a deep crown and a gold titanium nitride finish, which peeks through the slide at the muzzle and ejection port, in addition to three modest lightening cuts along the slide. The barrel and the front sight feature a 14-karat gold bead.
The rest of the pistol carries a charcoal and black color motif, with a charcoal slide and frame, along with charcoal controls, black Railscales custom Ascend grips, and Heinie Black Ledge combat sights. The finish on the Treasurer is DLC, which is extremely wear- and corrosion-resistant for a long life of use.
In addition to the texture provided by the grips, the Treasurer has fine 25-line per inch checkering on the frontstrap and mainspring housing. The one-piece mainspring housing flows into an enlarged and flared magwell for use with 8-round flush magazines or 9-round extended mags.
The hammer and adjustable trigger are skeletonized and the rest of the controls are standard, with the exception of the extended thumb safety. It has a compact beavertail grip safety with a memory pad and deep slide serrations at the front and rear of the slide.
The Treasurer is completely dehorned to make it as snag-free as possible, and it has Nighthawk’s Ultra Hi-Cut frontstrap for a modern, high-up grip. The frame has a standard dust cover without a rail to ensure a smooth draw and, in addition to the lightening cuts, shave a little weight off of the handgun.

Unloaded the Treasurer weighs just under 35 ounces, making it light enough for everyday carry with enough mass to make it a fun shooter at the range. Overall the pistol measures in at just over 7 inches long, 5 inches tall, and 1.2 inches wide at the widest.
The price is up there at $4,599, before custom options. Still, Nighthawk is well-known for being one of the finest custom shops out there, and the Treasurer fits right in with their other classy offerings.
