KelTec just pulled the curtain back on something big.

At ENFORCE TAC 2026 in Nuremberg, the Florida-based disruptor unveiled the all-new KP50 and MP50, marking its 35th anniversary with a platform that pushes the P50 concept into a new era.

And for the first time ever, KelTec is rolling out a firearm built exclusively for military and law enforcement: the select-fire MP50.

Let’s break it down.

Same 50 Rounds. Completely New Approach.

The original P50 made waves with its top-mounted 50-round mag. The KP50 and MP50 flip that script.

Both models feature a bottom-insert, drop-free 50-round magazine system, a full rethink aimed at faster reloads and more intuitive handling. The 5.7x28mm platform still carries that signature 50-round onboard capacity. But now in a layout that feels more conventional under pressure.

The optional Jungle Clip pairs two 50-round mags back-to-back for a 100-round setup. Empty one, rotate 180 degrees, and keep going.

Compact package. Serious volume.

KP50: High Capacity for the Civilian Market

The KP50 is the semi-auto commercial version, built for enthusiasts who want maximum capacity without lugging around a full-size rifle.

Quick Specs:

  • Caliber: 5.7x28mm
  • Barrel: 9.6” (1:7 twist)
  • Weight (unloaded): 4 lbs
  • Standard capacity: 50 rounds
  • Non-reciprocating charging handle
  • B5 Systems grip
  • Rear accessory rail
  • Side-folding brace compatibility (ATF-compliant)

Folded length comes in under 19 inches, making it surprisingly compact for what it carries.

MSRP starts at $899 for the base pistol, with braced and SBR options available. The KP50 Defender (KelTec Direct exclusive) bundles in a Vortex Crossfire green dot, Magpul MBUS sights, speedloader, and hard case.

MP50: KelTec’s First Select-Fire Platform

Here’s where things get historic.

The MP50 is KelTec’s first machine pistol designed exclusively for military and law enforcement. Semi-auto and full-auto capability (~850 RPM), side-folding stock, 50-round standard capacity, all wrapped in a compact footprint that avoids traditional subgun bulk.

Founder George Kellgren didn’t mince words:

“There has been very little innovation in the machine pistol category in nearly 30 years. We believed it was time to change that.”

Whether agencies agree remains to be seen. But KelTec clearly intends to enter the professional space with something more than a refresh.

Speedloader + Direct Sales

KelTec is also launching a dedicated KP50/MP50 speedloader, built specifically for stuffing those 50-round mags without wrecking your thumbs.

And in another interesting move, KelTec Direct is now offering factory-direct sales (still through standard FFL transfers), giving buyers early access to exclusive bundles and configurations.

Big Picture

This isn’t just a cosmetic tweak to the P50. The new mag system alone changes how the platform handles and reloads. Add the select-fire MP50 and KelTec stepping onto the global LE/Mil stage, and 2026 just got a little more interesting.

Fifty rounds onboard. Drop-free reloads. Compact footprint.

Love it or question it, the KP50 and MP50 aren’t subtle.

It’s unfortunate that they are passing an idea as their own when it’s originality comes from Stuff and Things LLC and their ST50 conversion kit that is for Keltec’s P50, without any credit being given to Stuff ans Things.
