Federal continues to add premium ammunition that will fill the needs of hunters and target shooters in 2023. The addition of the Hornady ELD-X bullet to the Federal ammunition lineup should make many shooters happy in the new year.
The new Federal Premium ELD-X loading will be available in 9 different cartridges ranging from 243 Win. to 300 Win Mag. These will feature Federal nickel cases and Hornady bullets. The ELD-X bullets offer high ballistic coefficients as well as an expanding design for optimum performance and accuracy.
Many ammunition manufacturers only load their own bullets, but not Federal. They’ve used Sierra, Hornady, Berger, Swift, Barnes, and Woodleigh as well as their own bullets. This allows Federal to better meet supply/demand by using so many bullet manufacturers and to meet the needs of shooters by offering their favorite bullets.

In addition to the new ELD-X hunting loads, Federal has a new target line of ammunition called the Gold Medal Center Strike. The Center Strike loading feature Federal’s own proprietary Open Tip Match bullets loaded with Gold Medal brass and primers.
Center Strike loads will be available in .223, 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 Win cartridges. The .223 load will feature 77-grain bullets, the 6.5 will have 140s and the 308 will be available in either 168 or 175 grains. The 308 Win. 168-grain load seems awfully similar to the old standard 168 Sierra load, but it gives offers shooters another choice
Besides offering the shooters more options this also allows Federal to control the supply chain to better serve its customers by having another bullet option in these highly popular loads.
Center Strike features Federal’s own high BC bullets. For more information on all the new products from Federal check it out HERE.
