A True Standout: Alpha Silencer’s New Titan 9 Suppressor — SHOT Show 2024

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Alpha Silencer unveiled the Titan 9, a true standout in suppressor technology, at SHOT Show 2024. Measuring just 6.4 inches, weighing a mere 8.3 ounces, it’s touted as the lightest, quietest titanium suppressor on the market. It’s suitable for handguns up to 9mm/.357 cal and rifles up to .338 Lapua.

What sets the Titan 9 apart is its innovative flow-thru design, which significantly reduces backpressure change. This feature is particularly beneficial when firing full-auto or in rapid succession on 5.56/.223, as it minimizes gas blowback to the shooter.

For hunters, the Titan 9 is described as the ultimate ‘can’ for rifles up to .338 Lapua, maintaining minimalism without compromising performance. Those looking for enhanced sound, recoil, and muzzle flash control can explore Alpha’s full-length options: Titan 223 for up to 22 cal bullets, and Titan 30 for up to 30 cal/7.62mm.

Construction-wise, the Titan 9 uses high-grade materials. It’s crafted from Titanium grade 5 STA 1000, complemented by Stainless 17-4 H900 in the blast chambers and baffles. This combination is designed to withstand extreme erosion, pressure, and temperature at the muzzle.

The suppressor incorporates Alpha’s unique X-Baffle Anechoic Chamber System, finished with a high-temperature Cerakote C Series ceramic coating. This positions the Alpha Titans as a “pinnacle” of suppressor technology in terms of weight, size, and serviceability.

Compatibility is key with the Titan 9. It comes standard with a 1/2″X28 Direct Thread Adapter but is also compatible with any industry-standard 1-3/8″X24 mount. This includes a wide range of options like Bravo, Hub, Pistons, Boosters, Nielsen Devices, QDs, Tri-lugs, and more.

The Titan 9’s durability is impressive, being full-auto rated for various round counts depending on the ammunition type. However, users should be cautious not to exceed 800° F and adjust the round count based on barrel length and cartridge power.

With a maximum bullet diameter allowance of .358″, the Titan 9 is versatile for both handgun and rifle use, making it a standout choice for hunters and professionals alike. Learn more here.
