Hogg Jabs CNN Commentator Over Rolex Watch

Gun-control activist David Hogg found himself in the headlines again this week after taking a swipe at a CNN commentator during a live discussion on the New York City mayoral race.

Appearing on CNN Newsroom, Hogg, president of the political group Leaders We Deserve, clashed with Senior Political Commentator Scott Jennings over the rise of Zohran Mamdani, the 34-year-old Democratic socialist who has just been elected New York City’s next mayor.

“People Are Tired of Being Lectured by Men with Rolexes”

During the exchange, Hogg praised Mamdani’s grassroots strategy and threw a jab at Jennings in the process.

“There’s a lot to be learned from this race,” Hogg said. “One of the things Zohran did is go to voters and ask, ‘What do you want to see?’”

“People are tired of being lectured by men with Rolexes on CNN about affordability in this country,” he added. “That’s the real reason he’s resonating right now.”

Jennings, a Kentucky-based Republican strategist and CNN regular, didn’t respond directly to the comment, but the exchange quickly lit up social media.

A New Mayor, Same Old Message on Guns

Mamdani, who will be the first Muslim, first South Asian, and youngest New York City mayor in more than a century, has made his position on gun ownership clear long before his victory speech.

In a 2022 post on X (formerly Twitter), Mamdani wrote bluntly:

“We need to ban all guns.”

That message, paired with his Democratic Socialist platform, drew strong opposition from Second Amendment supporters throughout the campaign.

Nonetheless, Mamdani celebrated Tuesday night, telling supporters in Brooklyn,

“My friends, tonight we have toppled a political dynasty.”

According to the Associated Press, Mamdani defeated former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an Independent, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

Analysis: The Optics vs. The Policy

Hogg’s defense of Mamdani and his attack on Jennings highlight a broader divide: class rhetoric versus constitutional rights.

Mamdani’s “ban all guns” stance may appeal to progressive voters in New York. But it clashes head-on with national trends favoring concealed carry, state-level constitutional carry laws, and the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision reaffirming public carry rights.

For gun owners outside the five boroughs, the political contrast couldn’t be sharper: while Hogg mocks “men with Rolexes,” New Yorkers just elected a mayor who’s openly committed to erasing the right to own a firearm.

The extreme left wing is starting to move the Democrat party.

See to it that the extremists on the right, these clowns praising the Nazi party like Fuentes and Tucker, don’t start moving the Republican party in any significant way. It looks to this outsider like they are trying to fill the void left by Charlie Kirk. A future where real world politics is reduced to the shallow but extreme Mamdani types vs Fuentes types really concerns me.

A national duopoly is toxic and self-sustaining and primary elections are a big sham, but in our system, the two national parties together are the movers of change. Don’t let your national party leave you the way mine seems to be leaving me.

Che Guevara AND Fidel Castro famously wore Rolex watches. And Mamdani was obviously born with a platinum spoon in his mouth. Just saying.

    • Blue Dog (he/him) November 8, 2025, 9:46 am

Pol Pot had some rather strong thoughts about Rolex watches too.

Hogg should talk. He’s from Parkland, FL I lived across the road in Coral Springs. Years ago, parkland refused to allow affordable housing. The state cut off road funds, so Parkland pot up gates to keep people out of their town. You don’t get any more elitist than that. This is what commies do. Live high off the hog no pun intended while the disarmed peasant get scrapsi

I wonder how long it will be before the Mob Bosses take him out?

Unbelievable. First, the voters in NYC should be committed; electing a damn muslim in the city that suffered so much on 9/11/01 & after. (SO glad I got out of ny) And the runner-up? A ex-governor sex offender who should still be serving prison time. And hoggie should be deported to a lovely muslim country-see how long he survives there.
NY, you get everything you deserve.

There is no way to legally outlaw all or in fact, any guns or other arms. The second amendment is perfectly clear to anyone who doesn’t have a twisted mind and is perfectly happy to violate their oaths of office as soon as they get into office. Let me remind you:
Oath of office: Well for Mamdani it’s irrelevant since he refused to say the oath of office. That SHOULD keep him from legally holding the office of mayor since it’s required by law. From the president to the lowliest E-1 (enlisted military lowest level) ALL are required to take the oath. I took my first one when I was still in high school and was enlisting in the delayed enlistment plan to go into service right after graduation. That oath is still binding on me as there was no end date in it.

    Second amendment:
2nd Amendment: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
What part of “The People” and “shall not be infringed” don’t the politicians understand?
    Points:
    1. If you have to ask permission to buy any kind of arm (weapon), your right to keep and bear arms has been infringed.
    2. If they can tell you what type of weapon you can buy or how much ammunition it will hold, your right to keep and bear arms has been infringed.
    3. If they can tell you where or how you can carry your weapon, your right to keep and bear arms has been infringed.
    4. If they can tell you what kind of ammunition you can buy for your weapon, your right to keep and bear arms has been infringed.
    5. If they can tell you how many weapons you can have or purchase, your right to keep and bear arms has been infringed.
    6. “Arms” does not just mean “firearms”! All weapons that are light enough for a normal person to carry (bear) no matter what kind, are covered under the banner of “arms” and prohibiting or making conditional on government approval of any of them is an infringement on your right to keep and bear arms.

Hogg is going to be a big voice for change, once he hits puberty.

Hogg, a failed pillow maker who is still trying to find his golden ticket while supporting power brokers like Mamdani, Bloomberg and Soros are far more qualified to lecture in this country.

problem is communism is taking a bigger hold on this country and nothing is being done about it!
