In a recent revelation that underscores the deep-rooted culture of firearms in America, an NBC poll has shown that gun ownership has hit a record high!
With more than half of the American electorate (52%) reporting that they or someone in their household owns a gun, the poll marks a significant moment in the ongoing debate about firearms and the Second Amendment.
This new high, the highest percentage of voters acknowledging being in a gun-owning household since NBC started tracking this data in 1999, reflects the widespread ownership of firearms in the U.S.
This trend is seen across various political affiliations: 66% of Republican voters, 45% of Independents, and 41% of Democrats reported living in a gun-owning household.

Interestingly, the data also shows a notable increase in gun ownership among different racial demographics.
A striking 56% of White voters and 41% of Black voters, which represents a 17-point increase for the latter over the past four years, live in a household with a gun!
Alan Gottlieb, Chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), expressed no surprise at these findings.
He attributed this rise to a combination of factors, including declines in law enforcement ranks and a spike in violent crime. Gottlieb sees this as a turn towards the Second Amendment for personal and family safety.
“Gun ownership is rising across the national landscape,” Gottlieb said in press release obtained by GunsAmerica, “and we are encouraged by what appears to be a cultural shift in America.”
“More people, of all backgrounds, are taking personal responsibility for their safety and that of their families. We appear to be witnessing a significant change in how people look at gun ownership,” he continued.

“We have all seen that the gun control and ban agenda has been an abject failure. Crime rates are up in many places. Restrictive gun laws have not disarmed criminals, only the law-abiding,” observed Gottlieb.
Gottlieb emphasizes the importance of responsible gun ownership and encourages new gun owners to seek training from qualified firearms instructors and adhere to established safety rules. He views responsible gun ownership as an American tradition that, despite regulatory efforts, continues to be a valued freedom among Americans.

The actual number of people owning guns in the US is much higher than these polls indicate, because many citizens will not divulge this information.
These types of surveys should only ask about if they have weapons in their household – not their political views, skin color, nationality, etc. It will show that individuals are concerned with their safety, regardless of any of the politically motivated reasons of the group performing the surveys.
