Diamondback, unveiled its latest offering at SHOT Shows Industry Range Day —an ultra lightweight 357 six-shot revolver. Cody from Diamondback shared the details of this new addition, which has generated some interest within the industry.
Six-Shot CylinderFront and Rear Sights
Weighing in at 21.2 ounces, Diamondback’s new revolver is noteworthy for its lightweight design. Equipped with fiber optic front and rear sights, it aims to enhance accuracy and target acquisition for shooters. Cody refrained from mentioning specific other competitor weights but did claim to have “the lightest on the market.”
The SDR has a compact frame, two-inch barrel and six shot cylinder that are machined from premium stainless steel. The revolver operates with a single or double-action mechanism and a 9lb trigger pull, providing a controlled shooting experience. Additionally the SDR’s J Frame grip makes it easy to change to extended grips and find holsters to fit.
Lightweight Revolver
Lucky triple 7s is how the MSRP of $777 was positioned by Cody. With the lightweight construction, fiber sights, double-action capability, and accessible pricing, Diamondback’s 357 revolver will surely appeal to a broad range of firearm enthusiasts. Find more from Diamondback HERE

Viewing this article on February 29, 2024 the most descriptive pictures are posted here and have noticed that there do not appear to be any viible side plate screws, but there are pin impressions on the right side where the push button for the cylinder release is located. No other reviewers have noted but this poses a question, is the SDR a solid frame revolver built like a Ruger or Charter Arms without a side plate ? If so that is a selling feature with the benefit of strength that is being overlooked and not advanced to potential customers. Looking forward to seeing one at the local gun shop/

Will it come with a 3 inch barrel?

Nice looking/interesting revolver. Compact, 6-shot design, with similar dimensions to the Kimber K6S, but almost 2 oz lighter and cheaper! Will be interesting to see how it compares in function, accuracy and durability. I might have to put one in my safe.

I’m excited about this. I used to carry a S&W 640 and have been thinking about replacing it. This would give me better sights and one more shot. If it was DAO I wouldn’t even think twice.
how do you process trades?
Interested in the Diamond Back SDR .357
