Over the last couple of years, Taurus USA has hired a handful of experienced engineers from around the firearm Industry. To complement the new talent, Taurus also opened a state of the art manufacturing and R&D facility here in the United States.

“Gimmicky” might be the best way to describe most long guns featuring more than two barrels, but the new Vierling from gunmaker Johann Fanzoj is anything but a gimmick. The Austrian company has been making firearms for over nine generations, and they’ve spent the last six years crafting a totally custom four-barrel rifle/shotgun for an unnamed customer in the U.S.

Cobalt Kinetics is launching a lower receiver only version of their “featureless” Model 27 rifle for people looking to build their own rifles.

“The FBI has taken this absurd position that, ‘We’re not going to process this appeal because it’s not for a Title I firearm,’” he explained. “They say that for the NFA, it’s completely different. You don’t have a right to appeal it, so you’re basically SOL. And I think that’s just wrong.”

We have laws to disarm people and remove them from society of course, of course. Involuntary commitment. (Oh, but that’s an extreme measure!) Right. But this is an extreme situation we’re talking about here.

The standard Kimber K6s Revolver is already a classy carry piece. Kimber is kicking it up a notch, though, announcing recently a laser-engraved model that is certainly going to turn some heads.

Ruger’s got four new pistols and rifles for this summer building on some of their most popular products. They’re adding an SR1911 Officer, a Security-9 laser bundle, and new automatic and bolt-action rimfire rifles.

Chinese outlets are reporting that researchers have built a “laser AK-47,” a light and man-portable “less-lethal” weapon. The weapon, called the “ZKZM-500 laser assault rifle,” is allegedly effective out to 800 meters.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) along with the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) sued the state in 2014 arguing that its impossible to comply with the microstamping requirement because it is not reliable nor is it ready for market.
