The typical talking heads and government elites have already ramped up their knee-jerk, siren song for gun control. I disagree with this call more strongly than I ever have because I believe gun control, and gun-free zones, are a root causes of violent crime.

According to U.S. rep. Hank Johnson, D-GA, it’s “common sense” to prohibit law-abiding citizens from possessing firearms in or around airports.

Question: when there is a horrific traffic accident, do newspapers stop running automobile ads in their pages?

President Barack Obama addressed the mass shooting at a South Carolina church on Thursday, suggesting that tinkering with the gun laws in this country is in order after 21-year-old Dylan Roof fatally shot nine individuals Wednesday night at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston.

A recent ruling from the U.S. District Court of Michigan declared it’s not a violation of constitutional rights for law enforcement officers to detain people open carrying a firearm.

Unfortunately, America is not unfamiliar with sociopaths taking the lives of innocent people. Each time an event like this occurs, several discussion points are raised and debated by the media, politicians and advocates on both sides of the gun divide.

Looks like D.C. resident will have to wait a little bit longer before they are allowed to carry concealed.
