At the behest of at least one gun-control organization, lawmakers in the House and Senate have proposed a resolution to make June 2nd “National Gun Violence Awareness Day” and the month of June “National Gun Violence Awareness Month.”

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday vetoed the second iteration of a bill that would formalize the confiscation of weapons from those accused of domestic violence.

Kansas Republican Gov. Sam Brownback signed a bill last Friday that makes a number of changes to the state’s firearms laws, including a provision that protects the right of government employees to carry concealed firearms while working outside of government buildings.
